Me and my son, who is a chef, stopped here today after a wellness medical visit. I was extra hungry because I had to fast the day before! I had seen the commercials about The Smoke Pit (best barbecue in town) and someone had recommended it to my son! We both are big food critics- me being from Texas - the BEST BARBECUE STATE - and he being a CHEF! The Smoke Pit PASSED with FLYING COLORS! Everything was delicious- I had The Ribs, sweet potato casserole, and Mac & Cheese and baked beans. He had the two-meat brisket and pulled pork with greens instead of baked beans. We were both THRILLED! A+ From Us BOTH. We will RETURN.

The bride and groom knew from the beginning that they wanted barbecue, and The Smoke Pit was an excellent choice. Having been to receptions where the food was subpar, we wanted the food to be something guests would enjoy. Alan at The Smoke Pit was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. The initial meeting allowed for a tasting of popular meat and sides, provided lots of information, and answered any questions. He was so pleasant to work with and quick and helpful answering all my emails. It was evident in our communication that he was going to do everything he could to make sure the reception buffet was exactly what we wanted and ran smoothly. Having a bartender we could use was also so helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests continue to rant and rave about how good it all was. Everything seemed to run smoothly and any issues that needed addressing were handled promptly and professionally. It was the perfect and highly praised choice for a mostly Southern crowd who eat a lot of bbq!

There is a reason it's the #1 restaurant in Concord! As long as you like cooked meat you won't be disappointed! There's always a line to order, but it goes quickly and lots of tables to sit at. My brisket sandwich was on point! (as was the rest of my family's order and very reasonable prices) I would come here any time I'm in the area!

Smoke pit food was the best we had them as our cater for our wedding at Overlook Barn. We had Pulled pork, Burnt ends, macaroni, beans, corn bread. Everything was good and that’s coming from a person from Texas 😜. I highly recommend using Smoke Pit for your wedding.

The food here is overall good. You walk in and order your food at the counter, and they give you a number and take a seat at a table. You get your own drinks. A lot of traditional bbq choices. I had the ribs and they were good - not great. You can add various bbq sauces at the table. I was not particularly impressed with any of them. The sides here are quite good. I had baked beans and they have nice bits of meat and peppers in them - perfect! The sweet potato casserole was also amazing. Yum! Fries were good. The service here was excellent. Food came out quickly and staffed checked on us multiple times. We ate on a Friday at 5:30PM. Parking was tight. We hit it just right as a line to the door formed just after we sat down. Not a huge dining room so keep that in mind. Prices are reasonable for the area.

Go to Lexington bbq, Jim n nicks, go to a gas station or literally ANYWHERE else.
I called and spoke to the manager after half of my order was left out and they could care less, pretty much laughed at me and just hung up on me after I said thank you for passing this message to the order. My wife is in the hospital, I have two kids I’m trying to feed and they’ve completely messed up our order and refused to replace it. I had to pack them up and drive 30 minutes to get there in 30 minutes back home because they really wanted smoke pit. The only resolution they offer is for me to drive 30 minutes to pick up the seasonings that they left off all the meats and then drive 30 minutes back home to put it on the ice cold food that I paid full price for. That’s ridiculous and unreasonable. They would much rather have one star reviews and chargebacks than to honor a $42 meal right like it’s supposed to be - That should tell you everything you need to know to avoid this place.

I am extremely impressed with the portions and quality of the food I actually went twice in one day but I'm also impressed with the young people that work there they are ALWAYS so polite so with that being said so far I don't have any complaints.

Ordered 3 sides to go. Geeens,mac/ cheeses, sweet potatoes. Been waiting for over 30 minutes for something that's scooped in to go containers without a meat order. They supposedly go in order which didn't make sense for such a simplistic order. The logic doesn't make sense.

Best bbq we’ve ever had. The service was above and beyond. Donna gave us samples before we ordered, helped us figure out what to order to share the most meat choices at the best price. When we ordered, Donna walked into the kitchen and it wasn’t even 30 seconds and our food as brought to the table! We had both the best Texas style brisket AND the best Carolina style pulled pork we’ve ever tasted melt in your mouth!

So the food here as always is really good, I have noticed more recently when I’ve ordered the burnt ends that there is a lot more pieces of fat and gristle than they used to have. Also, the prices have gone up and where we may have gone here 2 to 3 times in a month. We’re probably going once every couple of months. But nonetheless, the food is good. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.
