This is my daughters favorite sushi place in the entire world. I recommend everyone to go there if you love sushi! Her favorite was the special Rock and Roll. She would get it every single time we went. Definitely recommend!!

This restaurant shows open on Google and nothing was indicated on their personal website to the contrary. We made our way over their to try out their sushi and more for a birthday, only to find out that they were closed for what appears to be renovations. Or perhaps permanently closed? No restaurant sign on the building currently. No idea. Super frustrating. But just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

My pick-up order was 20 minutes late and this is what a $26 dollar hibachi gets you; 8 overcooked pieces of steak and a tiny piece of salmon. Save your money, this place isn’t worth it.

This place is pretty subpar in all honesty. The chicken, rice, sushi, even the shrimp sauce was all less than favorable. I was really excited to try it but I can find much better food in the frozen section. I'm pretty fair, the service pretty decent but there's way too much good, even decent asian food around for this place to be any sort of competition. The energy and vibe is nice! Seems like a nice place to be, just not the best place to eat.

I used to eat here all the time before covid (multiple times a month), but damn, it's not worth it now. I really used to love this place but for your safety avoid it. I reserve 1 star reviews for restaurants that have made me sick. Service was slow and the dining room was understaffed. (One waitress to both handle packing carry out and serving the dining room.) The floor was also dirty under the table we were seated at and the highchair provided had a broken buckle. We got various forms of salmon sushi (dancing salmon rolls and salmon skin rolls and a salmon maki roll) and sushimi and I got hibachi salmon and chicken. (All but one person got some form of hibachi) The rice in the sushi was under seasoned and the fried rice was bland and just not good. I don't usually drown my sushi or rice in soy sauce, but I had to here. A few of the sushi rolls were also sloppy and inconsistently rolled (the maki roll being the worst looking). My hibachi salmon and the chicken were seasoned well and the miso soup that came with it was good. The vegetables with the hibachi were very wet and bland. After eating here with a party of 5 and (a baby), 3 of us were left feeling ill at the same time. My fiend (who brought his baby) called the restaurant to let them know several of us had gotten sick. He was basically told that we got sick because we had a baby with us, then the woman on the phone hung up on him! What does having a baby with us have to do with what's going on in the kitchen? What kind of aloof bullshit is that? Take accountability and maybe see if your staff or your vendors are doing what they're supposed to. Check your hold and safe handling practices ffs! An acceptable response would have been something like "Okay! We'll check on it!" The three of us are from different households and the only meal we had in common was from Yama. And the three who got sick all ate Salmon Dance rolls. (It was also the first time we'd all seen each other in person in a week) It was definitely this restaurant that made us ill! I wasn't going to write this review but it's been a long night for me. This is the first time I've ever been sick after eating at a sushi restaurant.I understand the risk with eating both raw and cooked seafood. Sometimes fish can be affected by foodborne illnesses that can't be detected or solved with cooking. It really rubbed me the wrong way with how this wasn't taken seriously and blame was put on us instead of the issue being investigated or taken seriously.

First time going here (we sat at the bar) they asked for our drink order, we ordered beer + wine. They said (after giving the order) they couldn't serve alcohol because they had no bartender… we didn’t realize we came on a buy 1 get 1 night. So we over ordered sushi rolls and we’re not disappointed. We’ve been going back only on buy 1 get 1 nights & since then they always had a bartender

The service is awesome, but the food just isn't great. We had some rolls, which were kind of sticky and didn't have much flavor. We also had the hibachi, and it was pretty salty and oily. The veggie tempura wasn't very crispy and the sweet potato wasn't cooked all the way through.

Sushi was excellent! Highly recommend. We ordered online while we stayed in Charlotte, a very user-friendly site. Quick service as well. Ready when it said it would be.Kid-friendliness: Menu has kid friendly options. Which is great for my kiddos. They love being able to pick from the menu, and they even had a sushi option for them.

I really should have known better when there were only 3 other tables with other people when we walked in on Saturday at 6pm. Their food was just ok, the service was slow and there really was no reason for it. We will not return. Maybe they are better for lunch or weekdays. I'm sorry.

My wife and I have now made this a regular post church dinner spot. The food is spectacular....everything on the menu is a home run! Caroline is an amazing host and the service is best in class! Their chef, Devasie, has never disappointed! Yama gets our highest recommendation!!

Service was sloppy, not horrible just unprofessional. Food was wayyyy over-cooked and was only edible once drowned in sauce. Overall experience was 3/5 but the food was trash for the price so I won't go back. 1 star

Not the best sushi we've had for the price we paid. Rice seemed old with smaller portions then any other "sushi bar". Seems like we paid for an ambiance that we didn't get due to ordering to go

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It is so good and you will leave feeling full. My husband and I went there for his birthday because he loves hibachi. After talking to the manager and our server they recommended, the fire roll for my husband because he loves spicy food and they recommended the crab pop roll for me because I had never tried sushi before. They were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi to split and it is more than enough food! The restaurant is perfect for birthdays, date nights, celebrations or just perfect for someone who loves hibachi or sushi! We love this place!

This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been too. They sat us down and the server asked us for our drink order which took forever to get. We ordered an appetizer and had to remind the server that we ordered it. When we finally received our dinner, we noticed hair in our food. We asked to speak to a manager, who arrived with our sushi and showed it to her. She noticed it also and could tell it wasn’t our hair. She then wanted to know if we still wanted our sushi. Are you kidding me right now? I explained to her that I would more than happy to pay for the tofu that we ate but I was not paying for the food that we didn’t touch. This place was disgusting. Don’t waste your time or money going there.
