By far one of the best cheese steaks I've ever had in my life. They don't skimp you on meat like most places, and the price is right. Expect it to be busy because these folks know something about cooking a Philly. The onion rings were amazing but I wish they'd put some foil down to keep from melting the styrofoam. I'd drive out of my way to stop here again.

I shared the fish sandwich with my sweetie as a snack. It was delicious, lots of fresh pickles, tomatoes and onion. Really terrific fish under all that too. I hope to return for the cheese steak sometime. Nice outdoor deck for eating it.

Stopped here on my way back from Duck. I wanted something independent and saw the billboard. Glad I stopped. Never had a cheesesteak topped like this. Incredibly balanced. Onion rings were equally as good as well as their sweet tea. 6 Stars.

In a virtual desert of restaurants between the Outer Banks and Washington, NC, this is a true oasis of culinary delight. Backyard Betty’s is a real treat to experience. I ordered the fish hoagie, expecting to have a square piece of cod, and was pleasantly surprised by a very nice piece of fresh whiting. My wife had the haystack chicken sandwich, which came with bacon, jalapeños, onion, rings (part of the sandwich), topped off with cheese and barbecue sauce. Being a restaurant owner herself, she really appreciated the high-quality and freshness of all the food served, not to mention the kindness and genuine, southern hospitality, of the owner and server. Most sandwiches were priced in the $7 to $9 range.
