Great cakes, pies, and ice cream. This is the place to stop and get a dessert.

But check the hours or call to see if they’re open before you go. When we were here in June 2024, they were only open Saturday and Sundays from 1 - 5 pm.

Oh and great antiques and homemade soaps.

Also, they only accept cash or check!

Some of the best deserts we have had. The peanut butter pie and banana pudding is amazing. I wish they were open more, but it’s probably best for my waist line that they aren’t lol. If they are open and you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping and trying something.

Open Saturday and Sundays. Enjoyed the desserts especially the Plantation Pie. Worth the drive. The owners are so friendly and nice!

The Linville River Mercantile Bakery and Restaurant has antiques as well as great desserts. Great variety of antiques and just about anything you could want or need. Great friendly owners and quaint ambiance in the outdoor dining area.

Went on Friday at 2:00, but store was closed. Google says hours are only Saturday & Sunday 12-5. Had to rate, but it’s not an accurate reflection of the business since TripAdvisor apparently has wrong hours posted.

What an incredible adventure. The owner uses 5 different creams in the tres leches cake. It is heavenly.

We were looking for a great place for pie and this little gem was on the list. WOW, so many choices and what to get. We settled for a piece of their Peanut butter pie. This pie is piled so high, top covered in chocolate with a chocolate crust. It was so big we decided to split it. We ended up having to take the rest home. The price was $6.95 but it was worth every penny. It's a small store and they bake their own desserts. If you stop by you won't be sorry. If I could give this particular pie a 10 I would. I wish we were staying longer in the area to try the Plantation pie but maybe another year.

We stopped for a scoop of ice cream, but we fell in love with everything about this delightful place. Shopping for antiques and gifts, having dessert in the flower garden by a fountain at the edge of the forest was a pure delight.
