The new ownership has down graded the food. My daughter worked there and was sexually assaulted twice and was physically assaulted by the new owner. We are in the process of legal action… she dealt with it for 4 years.

I eat there many times a week,and it is always great,should you ever have a problem they’re always more than willing to take care of it immediately. I really wish people would talk to the owners when there is a problem instead of taking to the internet to bash a local restaurant or any business.

My wife and I eat breakfast at Rick's and it's has gone down hill, she said the grits were in the littlest bowl and had know taste and I gave the owner a picture of the olden days of the thrasher reunion back in the 80's to display it and that's never happened, so disappointed !!!

I used to love eating here as a kid and it has gone downhill with every new owner. I used to eat here every Friday for their special on steak but the past couple of times, the steak will be overcooked and tough. Baked potatoes are usually overcooked as well. I do still enjoy the popular "Big R" cheeseburger with fries but wish this restaurant didn't go downhill.

I had been eating at Rick's for years until the food went downhill. Thought I would try again but sadly no improvement. I got hamburger steak, my baked potato was hard as a brick and ice cold. My husband got hamburger steak with fries, the fries and hushpuppies were ice cold. Salad was good, but that's it. Not much business for a Friday evening, not like it used to be and I understand why. Won't be going back

Kid-friendliness: Great with talking to kids and helping them while ordering. Also have boosters and high chairs. Also color sheets which is a plus!
Wheelchair accessibility: Have ramps into the building, but can be bumpy. Tables are also easy to access with wheelchairs

This is our new favorite spot. We just moved to Denton and have found our new go to restaurant. What a place. Great food. And finally a place that knows what with cheese really means. I don't want you to melt shredded cheddar on my tator babies so it dries up and gets cold and rubbery. I want hot nacho cheese poured all over and they don't disappoint. They have a great menu at more than affordable prices which keeps you coming back. The atmosphere is family friendly. We felt right at home our first visit and take out is a breeze because there right down the road. We are loving Denton and the great places it offers.

Some friends took me to Rick's for a birthday dinner. Everything was exceptionally good, from the steak to the hush puppies! The service was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress even wished me a happy birthday on our way out. I don't know how the meal could have been any better. Thank you Rick's!
Fast forward to last week. Me and 3 family members from Texas come in for lunch. I ordered the catfish. It was paper thin with NO meat on it at all. My BIL had a chili cheese dog, the chili was sweet and they put sliced cheese on it. They could have at least melted the cheese. My sister had a cucumber salad that was also sweet. My brothers meal was the only one worth it. Ricks, you should be ashamed. There's no excuse! I will never go back.

I observed a server eating while she was serving food. If the health dept was in there, they would have gotten shut down. She had her hands at her face in between waiting on customers. We order fried okra that tasted of rancid oil. We won't be going back there. It's not the same Ricks.
