We happened upon this place on our way to Uhwarrie. It was like stepping into a BBQ restaurant from the 1960s. The sliced and chopped pork BBQ sandwiches were great. The onion rings and fried okra were fresh, hot, and perfectly done. The staff was friendly. The server was patient and polite. Lots of good vibes here!

Very authentic country place, clean, friendly and most importantly the BBQ pork was delicious. Onion rings were exceptional, better than I expected. Fried okra was fresh, light and crispy.

A fellow named Wayne came up to us at Troutman's BBQ this morning, where we were eating breakfast. He said he had a bug and really shouldn't be out.... While I was scrambling for cover & trying to catch my breath, a big pet bug crawled out of his pocket.
While I was still trying to gain my composure, he opened his wallet and said that he had money to burn! And literally about set our table on fire.
Then before we could get out of the restaurant, this new friend paid for our breakfast ( which was wonderful, by the way ) ... incredible people. Incredible courtesy. Incredible breakfast. What a blessing!
By the way I'm really tickled pink, they have a nice well-stocked very fresh salad bar! For a little Hometown getaway there's just not a better place, I think!

Great food, fair prices and great staff. I love the coarse chopped plate, but they have great burgers as well. Also, one of the only places I know of where a member of the waitstaff will come out to your car and take your order then bring your food to your car. Or, you can call ahead and place your order, then call when you arrive, and they will bring your food out and get your payment, then bring your change back out to you.

Was looking for something new but established.
It's been her way long enough to handle some hot dogs and a hamburger with fries.
But not the day I went.
Like I said, I'm going back. But I was not impressed.
