Tried for first time. After hearing many positive reviews claiming best barbecue ever we finally checked it out. Food was very good but not best barbecue ever . Staff were all very pleasant and eager to please. Tea was excellent. Seating is limited.

The BBQ is as real as it gets, but they seemed to be focusing more on BBQ chicken when I was there, as it was coming out fresh while the BBQ itself seemed a bit dehydrated like it had been set out for a while. At least the sweet tea and potato salad (after adding salt and pepper) were good. The slaw here is that strange stuff with sweet pickles in it, though. Also, the hushpuppies are a bit too plain without any hint of sweetness, and the way they charge for refills even for sweet tea is straight-up low-class. Great service though; all the folks there were kind. It’s a neat place with a lot of history that’s worth coming to, but my latest visit left a bit to be desired.Advice for the owners: At the very least get rid of the stupid “wear a mask” signs, figure out a way to take credit cards like you realize you live in the 21st century, and stop LITERALLY nickle-and-dimeing folks for refills.Parking: Parking on both sides of the building

This was the BBQ experience I had been dreaming of. Best hush puppy I have had in decades. Loved the assortment of vinegar based sauces. Meat was tender and flavorful. Really loved the vinegar kick in both butter and string beans. Tea and sweet potato pie were perfect. Lovely staff. Great prices. If you are shifting from I95 to route 17 it's quick to get here.
It's small, it's only open Wednesday-Saturday, but it has AWESOME food (BBQ, fried or BBQ'd chicken, all the sides such as butterbeans, collards, etc.) -- and usually has a 100 sanitation rating. However far you have to drive to get there, you will NOT be disappointed. It's a two-hour round-trip run for me to get there, but I don't think twice about jumping in the truck and heading over there when the urge strikes.LOVE ME GRADY'S!(PS: They'll be closed Dec. 25, 2023, and reopen Feb. 1, 2024, for their usual winter break.)
