The Fishing Chicken is the new name of this place I ordered catfish and shrimp plate and my friend ordered flounder and shrimp with a side of fried oysters. Everything was created. Service was excellent. Be prepared to wait food cooked fresh.

This place is now called The Fishing Chicken. Stopped while traveling. Food was delicious. I had the catfish, my husband had the bbq. They let you change up the sides. Collards were great! Very friendly service. The portions are huge.

Two of us went in tonight, excited about new seafood and fried chicken. We each wanted both scallops and oysters. While we understand those items are more expensive than others, we were disappointed not to see that particular combo on the menu, with only "market price" next to each of those items. Just the fact that we requested that combo seemed to throw off at least two employees. When they got it rung up, the check was over $40 for two oyster/scallop combos with three sides. We were hungry and wanted seafood, so I paid this, but after looking more closely at the menu and tasting the food that came out, that number is irksome. The mashed potatoes were both pasty and runny. I had to mix some that inexplicably came in a separate styrofoam bowl* along with the mashed potato soup on my styrofoam* plate to create something I could eat with my fork. My green beans fell apart enough that they were difficult to eat. They did make sure to change the side that I requested after my order was already submitted, but neither of us received the collards we ordered. We each received only 4 bite-sized scallops and about the same in oysters. The scallops were over-done, and the oysters were downright unpalatable--I've never had worse. From what I can (barely read) of their menu online, the $18.99 seafood combo not only includes four oysters and four scallops, but also a whole hill of other things, including fish, shrimp AND deviled crab. If there were to be a next time, I would just order that. Alas. *Speaking of styrofoam: Everything from the cup for my drink to the plates and flatware were disposable. This makes for easy cleanup for them, but that waste is all going to the dumpster behind the restaurant where it will continue to contribute to the awful smell in the parking lot before it ends up in the landfill. It's 2018, y'all, and it's time we all play our part. I never post reviews on businesses and hate to have such bad things to say about local digs, but this experience is enough to make me think twice about ever going back.

I have been here a few times. They are really friendly and you get a lot of food for a good price. The oysters are really good. The sides are not the best but the food is good. How come they are closed for renovation? They just opened a few months ago.. Can I get some answers?

Great Locally owned find. I've been in twice and it was great both times! The Flounder and Shrimp were delicious, Hand battered & fried up to order just right. The staff was super nice, making everyone feel welcome and they were quick with food and refills to boot so that was a bonus! While eating I overheard some senior adult couples talking, one was telling the other they had been several times and they had never a bad meal, just great food and service every time. So listen to your elders and stop on by for some great Fresh Seafood.

Was so excited they opened one up locally but short lived. Food is always greasy. Tastes like old grease and sides are either bland or way too salty.

Heard nothing but good things about this place, it became Friday night's dinner. Was busy upon arrival and even busier as we dined in. My date ordered the shrimp basket, with slaw, fries, hush puppies. Me, the Greek salad with flounder. As a side, ordered the sweet potato fries, they were limp. Salad was fresh, and the flounder tasty, shrimp basket was good too. Will be back to try clams, a neighboring table had them and they looked cooked to perfection.
