Oh my goodness! This is a 5 star restaurant 100 ft off the highway!!! I had the steak fajitas, the girls had soft tacos or something like that. We also tried the dips! Guacamole, cheese, Bean, and salsa dip and they were delicious. We absolutely loved the food and the three women running the restaurant were friendly, knowledgeable, and they took great care of us. If you like Mexican food you are absolutely adore this restaurant. They have a great selection, the food was very delicious, and this is one of the most convenient stops on 95.

Several of us are on a bicycle trip across North Carolina. One of the nights we stayed across the street from El Charro grande and we decided to try the place.
This is a place that foodies dream of. This is not a business that spends a lot of its effort on ambience. The 1970s gaudy Mexican decorating just lends authenticity to the family nature of this business.
I ordered Pollo Chipotle and my lady ordered Fajitas Pastor. Both dishes sang with Angel's delicious care and presentation. I recommend asking for the Salsa roja if you enjoy intense and flavorful mexican sauce. Not for the faint of heart!
We ordered home made flan for dessert and it was dense and flavorful, a very good portion.
The prices are very reasonable and in line with keeping local customers coming back.
Manager Jorge and server Jenny and her assistant Liz all have nice personalities and worked to earn our money.
We would be regulars if we lived here. Since we dont we hope to guide other travelers.

I love the food, it's an amazing place to get food. My only problem, is that the waitress staff don't pay attention. (At least when I'm there) Every time I go with my family, it's like they forget we're there. One lady took our drink orders but never brought them out ? Another lady took our drink order and made the previous woman serve us the drinks she "forgot". Another time we went, they never checked on us, except to bring out our drinks and food. We finished eating and it took like 15 minutes just to get the check? And it always just seems like they'd rather be any where else, I get it, I don't like working either but come on. Amazing food! Mediocre (if that) work staff.
The picture I provided is the only dish I didn't like. The meet was...rubbery. I don't remember what it was, barbacoa tacos?

The music was too loud when ask if they could turn it down a bit they just changed stations The waitress wasn't the best And FYI they put an automatic 18% tip on your order which would be fine if the waitress had been good ??♀️ 1st issue here and it probably my last trip. Wasn't happy at all

We read the reviews online and decided to give it a try while we were in town. When we walked up to the door, we didn’t have high hopes based on the entrance. However when we entered it was completely different. The inside was nice, we were greeted promptly. The chips were still hot when we got them at our table. The food came out hot and delicious. We were surprised how big the portions were at a reasonable price. We would definitely eat there again.
They were getting busy as we finished our meal and service did slow down, so I’m not sure if anything would have been different had we arrived at a different time.

My husband and I have a tradition of stopping on our way home from trips in small towns finding different Mexican restaurants. We travel A LOT and this was our favorite find yet. It’s unfortunate that they are connected to a very sketchy motel, which made me reluctant when we pulled up despite the wonderful reviews. I am so glad we decided to try it out. The food was VERY tasty, we got items that had chicken, beef and shrimp and all were good. The salsa is amazing and the Margaritas were great! The sweet girl that served us was amazing and helpful when we were choosing our meal. Job well done, we will be back for sure!!!!
