I went downtown to get a couple of hot dogs and fries from Sherry's on Monday during lunch. Didn't realize they were closed. Came across this place that advertised hot dogs on their sidewalk sign. Gave it a try. I have to say that I'm not going to be brutal here because I should know better than to order a hot dog from a steak house. That being said, the hot dogs are nothing great. They taste like Ball Parks on a piece of toast. I can only assume the person that put these on the menu isn't from around here. It seems like Monday lunch would be a great opportunity to capitalize on the fact that Sherry's is closed. Get some Stevens or Bright Leaf hot dogs and do a local hot dog special. Loved the fries and the service was great. I'll update if I ever go for a steak.

We arrived at 6:50 and had reservations at 7. We waited for a table until 8:20 and was told there was a party of 9 ahead of us. We wound up leaving. I’ve never been to a restaurant before and waited this long when we had reservations. Hopefully will try this place again in the future.

We ordered a blooming onion to go. Got home and the plate was saturated with greace .Called the restaurant back up to let them know and they did not even offer a refund .we will not be back. Business don't normally last long doing there customers this way.

The food is amazing but be prepared to wait, a while! People came in after us yet were seated before us, same size parties. People ordered after us yet got their food before us. Total time in restaurant, waiting for a table, waiting for food, eating, was 2 hours and 40 minutes. Luckily, we were with wonderful people who made the time pass quickly.

After 47 years I can finally say that I have put a bite of steak into my mouth that surpasses all others. This ribeye was perfect in every way. A perfect medium, a perfect flavor profile, expertly butchered and served EXACTLY as advertised….with a potato and a salad topped with home-made ranch dressing.
This is the most UN-Dunn “like” place to eat in town…and it is one that nobody should miss!

Edit: Went back and gave them a second shot. Same server. (She even remembered us!) Got there earlier (around 5pm) and this time the service was prompt, friendly and excellent. The food again was delicious. I still think they cook their medium rare a bit too pink but the filet mignon and ribeye are just outstanding cuts of meat. Blooming onion is perfectly done. Great selection of bourbons and scotch. Maybe adding coffee and dessert (some cheesecake in the fridge?) would be a nice touch. But this visit was excellent. Great steakhouse and worth the visit.

There can be no excuse for arriving at 6:30 pm, being seated shortly before 7 and not receiving your dinner until after 8. There can be no excuse for watching three parties arrive after you and all being seated before you. There can be no excuse to see one of those parties, with a different server, finishing their meal, paying and leaving before you even get your main course served. Maybe it was our server - she rarely checked on us and we had to ask her to check on our order it was talking so long. Don't know if I will be back. Steaks were great but I think the poor restaurant management and below par service outbids the food. Sorry folks.

The food is absolutely fantastic. This is probably my new favorite place to get steak. The fried onion was delicious, and I feel it was a more than fair deal.
The ONLY reason this restaurant is not getting 5 stars is the seating. At first we were seated in a corner and I had to asked to move because I’m claustrophobic and felt boxed in. The staff was extremely accommodating and so kind! Once we were moved, the booths were just too far apart. For my husband and I to sit across from each other and still reach the table I had to scoot to the very edge of the bench and had no back support. It felt like there was a mile between me and the table, and my husband felt the same on the other side.
All in all, the seating took away from the experience a little, but I’d deal with it for the delicious food. If they just adjust their seating slightly this would be 5 stars in a heartbeat. I will definitely be going back and will edit this review if the seating situation gets better.

Met a couple of friends for dinner. Third time visiting the Butcher 's table. Had a great steak and the rest of our meal was just as good. I am in love with the way the steak is prepared. I never have to put anything on it which never happens for me!
