Honestly, the only thing that stopped it from being 5⭐️ was the burger bun was a little dry and kept refilling tea but not with ice. That's the only 2 things I can really call them out on. Fried mushrooms we're special👌The cowboy burger would've been outstanding with the correct bread to complement it. Fried catfish w/ fried squash and slaw was fantastic. Even down to the cocktail and tarter sauces, which I always appreciate when made in house and w/ care. Dang good bottled beer selection as well. Will def be back to enjoy this local gem.

Tried to eat here. Watched 2 tables that came in AFTER us get water, menus and orders taken before we were even acknowledged. We left. Nobody noticed. Went to the Speedy Chef and it was delicious.

I went to Cowboys for lunch. I try to start with a positive. The staff I encountered was very friendly and polite. The food portions were good, but the flavors were off. I order a hamburger, fries, and an appetizer of breaded mushrooms. The coating on the mushrooms was salty and the breading had no flavor. The burger was dry as was the crumbly bun. Had to drown the burger in A1 to eat it. The fries were excellent. Later that day I didn’t feel well after the meal. Left over 3/4 of the mushrooms as they were awful.
When I told the lady at the register, she just shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t seem surprised by the complaint.

Great find! We were going to Elkin and wanted to pick a place to eat! Glad we found this place! Food was great and the service fast! We had a blooming onion….yum, I had the smoked chicken, broccoli casserole & a side salad w/ a yeast roll! My husband had the Cajun chicken w/rice, Mac & cheese & a side salad and a yeast roll…..Give them a try! 😊
