I have been coming here for over a year, always good service, always good food, the constantly changing menu is the best thing ever. Never get tired of what is available. My go to place to bring customers or employees as I know it won’t be a flop.

I had my first meal experience at Embers on Saturday and was blown away! The food choices listed on the menu were all unique combinations and I was unsure of what to order. My sister, who had been to Embers many times before told me that it didn't matter what I ordered, it was all going to be the best. I ordered the pork tenderloin with basmati rice and roasted broccoli and I'm pretty sure I moaned with every bite I took. I ordered the Cardigan as my drink and drained the cup dry. After dinner, we had a round of Marky Marks and being the coffee lover that I am, I announced that it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Way to go, Embers! You have another loving and devoted fan!

Truly a gem! We travel just to come here because the chef never disappoints. She is truly amazing, and in small rural areas it’s hard to find a great culinary experience. However, at the Embers that’s exactly what you’ll get. And if you’re lucky enough to have Mattie serve you, I promise you’ll have a great experience. The staff and owners are so kind and they are great at always remembering repeat customers by name. Definitely worth a try!

Excellent food. Not only my haddock but people around me enjoyed their meals just as much as me. The drinks and beer menus are extensive and very good as well. I'm not a peanut butter chocolate pie fan but theirs is delicious.

We love this place. It’s a regular hang-out for locals, especially on Wednesdays nights. The menu changes every night but is always good. The atmosphere is great.

The food is excellent and we eat here often. Service is good and the owners and staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. It’s a family-owned business with a large family presence that also connects to Southern-On-Main. By your 3rd trip, you can usually expect to see the owner or staff hand you your favorite drink when you walk in or ask if you want things in your usual preference.

The menu is small and changes daily; they post it to Facebook everyday. The kitchen is small and many items are prepared ahead of time next door at Southern-on-Main. They are currently in the process of building out a full-kitchen in the rear of the building which will allow them to have a larger menu and prepare items more quickly.

Don’t expect staple items like hamburgers or kids Mac-n-cheese to be on the menu although I have seen the staff retrieve menu items from Southern-on-Main when customers request something off menu.

Cocktails are great and highly recommended. Food can sometimes take a while, especially when it’s packed full of people, so if you have theater tickets I would plan on going yourself plenty of time.

During busy times you may have to walk up to the bar to get a quicker refill although the staff are always moving fast and try hard to be attentive to everyone.

The food is very good and cheap for its quality. A typical entree is $8-15 with some premium items like steaks being slightly more expensive.

There’s usually a large salad on the menu offered without a protein, seared tuna appears often and makes a great lighter meal. Occasionally, they offer hot dogs for $4 that are excellent. Rice or steak bowls are great. Bistro steaks or prime rib are fantastic when offered. Lasagna, Guinness Stew and similar items are always really good.

Atmosphere here is typically gonna be a bit louder and more crowded than Southern-On-Main or Wisdom Table, especially if there’s live music playing. We rarely have to wait for a seat or table, unlike Angry Troll which can have long waits on the weekends. If you like a lively pub / bistro feel without a sports-bar vibe then you’ll love eating here.

Angry Troll, Wisdom Table, Southern-on-Main or the Reeves Theater Cafe are also good nearby choices with good food.

For additional parking options, park behind the building or at town hall (1 street over). Parking is plentiful and close by although the on-street spaces at the front door are usually full.

The quality, quantity, and presentation of all of the food is always top tier. This is hands-down our favorite restaurant in the area, and I am always happy with everything that comes out of the magic kitchen. Did I mention the menu changes every day? The atmosphere is fantastic. The entire staff is great, and I hope this gem is open for forever. I am a forever patron.

I couldn’t recommend this spot enough. Everything is a 10/10. The service is excellent. The drinks are even better and the food is AMAZING. I gave four stars regarding the food because they don’t have many food options, but the options they do have are so yummy. The ambiance is amazing and the live music is so fun. Easily my favorite spot in Elkin
