Great food at good prices. Service can leave a little to be desired at times. I have seen cleaner places but nothing that would prevent me from coming back.
Kid-friendliness: Depends on what is meant by kid friendly. Do they allow kids? Yes lol. Is it a place that parents can bring their kids and keep them occupied for a time? No
The people who take orders are nice but the quality of food is disgustingly gross and I added extra bacon on my blt sandwich and also didn’t want crispy bacon and guess what I paid for extra bacon didn’t get it aswell as the tomatoe was nasty and lettuce was brown also my husband and father in law got seafood platters everything was nasty and soggy we all got sick last night after eating from here everytime we get food from here we are disappointed bit after getting sick this time we won’t be eating here again don’t waste your money!!

I Went into John Boys the other day with my family and we were greeted with smiles from the counter girls all very friendly.
Very great food with generous portions got fish that was amazing 10/10 recommend My husband got the barbecue and it was so good.
10/10 recommend for some hometown cooking

Great little place not fancy . The staff is so friendly! The food is great the country style steak, chicken & dumplings are wonderful. Seafood and wood smoked BB are very good. Prices are unbeatable! Highly recommend it.
Placed a to go order. Ordered large size seafood ended up with what seemed like a child’s portion. They left off the slaw, charged us for a loaded bake potato which we did not order and the hush puppies were burned. The quality has gone downhill. Would not recommend to anyone. Spend your hard earned dollars somewhere else.

If you're in the mood for an utterly disappointing dining experience, John Boys is the place for you. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with the overpowering stench of stale grease and despair.
The chicken strips tasted like they had been boiled in dishwater and then left out in the sun for a week. The meat had the flavor of something that had been forgotten in the back of a fridge.
Prices were sky-high for what was essentially cafeteria food masquerading as BBQ and seafood. John Boys is a testament to everything that can go wrong in a restaurant. Save your money and your taste buds and find literally anywhere else to eat.
Parking: Plenty of parking probably because nobody wants to eat here.
Do not eat here!! Save your insides. I ate here today for lunch and had a plate of finally chopped bbq that had been cooked for close to 6 1/2 years. Honestly I’m not sure it was pork, there’s better stuff less than 5 min away. Do yourself a favor and go there.

Staff behind the counter just kind of stared at us, said nothing and went on doing other stuff. Stood there for a solid 5 minutes. Then counter line did not move, no one was being served, nothing was happening. We left and went somewhere else.

We stopped there on way back to hotel from racetrack. Got 2 bbq meals to go. They had a smoked bbq meal as a "Special" for $6.95. Great deal IF you like Smoked food as you get bbq, Cole Slaw & 1 other item. Good amount of food for that price!! The hushpuppies were the BEST & Cole Slaw was very good. I simply prefer non-smoked bbq but Would recommend this place.
