Me and my daughter was both food poisoned after getting dinner here. We both got sick within hours of eating this food. I will not go back and I advise everyone to stay away if you don’t want to be food poisoned!

Really went downhill after new owner took it over. Got a combo plate the other day and it had less food than a normal plate. The shrimp sauce on my salad had a weird flavor and nothing like it used to be.

Shiki of Elkin has gone downhill in the last few years. My family used to eat there at least once a month but will not any longer. Portions have been cut by 50% and the prices have increased little by little.

Went on a Sunday at lunch. We were a party of 5 and one person did enjoy her food but she did not get steak or chicken. Had to wait for the food to arrive an then it was very, very bad. Steak so tough you had to chew forever. Scallops were so overcooked they were chewy and rubbery. Chicken tough. Rice was hard. There was no taste to any of the food. Soup was very greasy. The salad was the only good thing about the whole meal. Unless my mind changes I will not be going back and I used to enjoy the food. Do not know what has happened but not a good experience. I would have been ashamed to bring that to the table. Would give a zero if I could.

Long-time frequent customer and the food has always been consistent and good. A few months ago we noticed that the quality has dropped and that was confirmed in a subsequent visit. Giving them another chance a week or so ago it hit rock bottom. Nothing seemed fresh which makes me think it was leftover from the lunch meal. The food was cold which is always a risk with take-out but this was room temperature. The Hibachi steak was literally inedible. Honestly as tough as leather. Some impossible to chew even when cut into smaller pieces. I have no idea if the management has changed or they've resorted to cheaper ingredients and reduced staffing. But after three consecutive progressively worsening bad meals we give up. This is sad and disheartening to lose a once reliable food option in Elkin.

The food was ok. The staff unfriendly. Charge for extra shrimp sauce. Although there is no notifications. They close the grill in the afternoon and don't serve customers. Not likely to eat there again.

Restaurantji Recommends
Friendly staff and great food. I'm a little picky, so I didn't get the mixed vegetables in my Teriyaki Chichen, so it seemed kind of basic, but that's my fault. The cream cheese wantons were amazing, not your basic cheese wonton, but actually had some flavor to it. I really don't care for duck sauce most of the time, but it just paired, so we'll with the flavor of these wontons.

My friend is on the verge of vomiting.
The staff itself are very kind and well mannered yet the atmosphere is incredibly off, some staff were often on their phones while others did not bother to clean the tables. The kinds of people you see here are ones you would see in dark alleys, maybe an old couple or two. When we were eating we watched a woman go outside the restaurant, going over to the bushes where she then proceeded to eat not only the bush, but the dirt. The food was overall interesting, the sauces were slightly chunky while the food itself was either tough or flavorless, the soup was oily and extremely hot, which was a plus. Would not recommend this resturaunt, but the rice was nice.

Orderd filet mignon and shrimp hibachi dinner the meat is NOT filet it is a cheap meat tried to say supplier sells it to them(might want to find a new supplier) but you can see them cutting meat in the kitchen. Also want to charge $1.00 for a little tiny cup of yum yum sauce for your rice. Very rude young women behind cash register said it is what it is when we asked questions. Its just business we were told. Well you can keep your business won't be back !
