I grew up in the South. This is the best fried okra I’ve ever had.

Got to take our dog and sit on a heated porch. It was really good. Prices were very reasonable too!

Great food, but not the place to go if you want good Southern cuisine, think more Italian with southern hospitality.

Generally speaking, the food is excellent and we eat here often. Service is always top notch with friendly helpful staff. It’s a family-owned business with a large family presence that also connects to Embers, the next door restaurant that is more of an Irish Pub with a rotating menu. The family are all really great people.
Southerns food is traditional favorites like mashed potatoes, fried chicken breasts with gravy, etc. the food is definitely a notch above similar meals served in most Southern Diners and it’s obvious they do better prep and use more premium ingredients.
A typical entree is $10-20 with some premium items like steaks being more in the $22-27 range. Steaks are good, okra, greens, mashed potatoes are also spot on and the balsamic / bacon Brussels Sprouts are delicious.
We have had an occasional meal where the entree might be over or undercooked, usually when the restaurant is unusually busy. They want to know when there’s something wrong and will go out of their way to make it right.
I interact with visiting tourists on a regular basis and Southern is always a hit for dinner. The menu is a bit small and rarely changes although there’s usually a few daily specials. The restaurants ground floor is small and cozy.
If you’re looking for really high-end food, Wisdom Table across the street is also a good choice although with a smaller menu and more expensive food. Embers and Angry Troll are usually a bit louder and more crowded but also great places with Embers offering a constantly changing menu and Troll offering high-end pub fare.
For additional parking options, park behind the building or at town hall (1 street over). Parking is plentiful although the on-street spaces are often full.

Good quality and great taste food. The specials are truly special, not just your everyday dish (dinner specials I’ve seen on Sunday: duck, monkfish, coconut curry chicken).
Their salad with hot bacon dressing is one of a kind - different and delicious.
Their quiche on Sunday brunch is the best I ever had.
Servers are friendly and attentive.

Great spot with daily specials and good cocktails. Outside can get a bit noisy on a nice day but the music, food, libations, and great company make it all just right!

What a pleasant surprise! One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Oxana owner, hostess, server, buswoman, more energy than an atom bomb sat our group of 5 on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. Food was great. Incredible menu. This place is a hidden gem!
