Excellent food. Easily a 5 star! Charleston quality shrimp and grits. And the Brussel sprouts!!!!!
The food was horrible..undercooked Brussel sprouts. the shrimp and grits was fishy and mushy. Had to send back. I never send back food. The vinaigrette on my spinach salad was tasteless. They ran out of biscuits and gave us what tasted like canned biscuits. the server was distracted by family in the restaurant, we had to keep asking for stuff.. napkins..silverware, plates for the apps, etc. then we had to listen to them "argue"..they were playing but who wants to hear that childish bickering at a restaurant? My friend had doted on it. her first time was awesome just last week, best shes ever had. But this is far from it. we wont be back. her bill was different than last weekwhen she came...she got the same exact thing. We were so disappointed with the food and the service. so kuddos the the chef from last week because you had a new fan.
We were visiting town and ended up having dinner here two nights in a row — that says it all. Everything was delicious.
The first night we had the mountain trout, fried chicken, fried mozzarella, and crème brûlée — all excellent. The second night we tried the filet with mashed potatoes and green beans, the burger, and the chocolate cake, and every dish delivered.
Consistently great food and a place I’d absolutely recommend when you’re in Elkin.

Unexpected find! Had dinner here last evening after finding a few other places we attempted were closed. The Crab & Red Pepper Bisque was superb, as was the Ahi Tuna dinner and Pecan Crusted Mt Trout. If you are in the area, this is a great place to recharge.

My husband & I ate lunch here. The Reuben sandwich was touted as hearty. It was NOT!! It had scant meat & Sauerkraut, no thousand island dressing that we could see and was a very THIN sandwich. The general appearance of the sandwich was thrown together with little effort or thought. Horrible food, adequate service and so DISAPPOINTING!!!

Don't order the collard greens! They are from a can!! The only thing I ate that was exceptional was the grits and fried green tomatoes. It's a once and a life time place. Cracker barrel quality at an upscale price.

A wonderful dining experience. From the moment we walked in the door, two adults and a young child, we were treated so well. The host also helped bring food and napkins, and a coloring sheet and crayons for the little one. It’s a small touch, but we noticed. Service was impeccable. Friendly and attentive without being overbearing, we had everything we needed, from extra napkins to that late request for honey mustard, and all this was on top of the stars of the show, the food! Everything was delicious, and if I could only eat the mac and cheese with shrimp, I would have been a happy man! I hope they don’t read this part, but the prices were so affordable, and this was a fine dining experience at very reasonable prices! (Please don’t raise them!) I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed this entire experience. I would book travel to or through Elkin just to eat here again!

We stopped her for dinner as recommended by the hotel clerk. We were staying overnight to get to Mt. Airy from north Alabama.
We had the southern popcorn which is fried okra and homemade ranch. It was amazing. I had the fried chicken breast which was cooked to perfection and truly tasted homemade. It came alongside mashed potatoes, white gravy and collard greens. All were very good. My family had the trout, fried green tomatoes and roast bbq chicken. They all said it was amazing. For dessert we tried the pecan peach bread pudding. I’m not usually a bread pudding fan, but it was delicious and not overly sweet. Definitely recommend this small unassuming restaurant.
