The food was okay/good. Our service was abysmal. Our waitress seemed to be hating life. She took our order and brought our food. That was it! We asked for our check and waited and waited. We finally had to ask for the manager to bring our check. I had ordered a mimosa. The champagne or prosecco was flat as water, so I was left with watery seeming orange juice. The decor reminded my daughter of a local nursing home dining room. Our table was uneven, and bumped up and down. The people next to us had phenomenal service. Their waitress was chatty, animated and visited their table often and they actually got refills on coffee and water. The dining room was not packed, so I don’t think our waitress was overwhelmed with tables. It was very disappointing. I wanted to like it, because it is on the campus of my Alma mater, but won’t be going back. The food/experience was not worth the cost. I will try at least their wine tasting event to see if any better before I completely write them off

I ordered the tiger shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was so overly cooked it tasted like clay, and the cocktail sauce was way too sweet. Do not order this appetizer.

Went for brunch, service was so slow, she crab and a pumpkin soup on menu. Pumpkin not available, then told another selection by staff, then told it was not available either. Last option given when all failed was mushroom soup. it was puréed with a little piece of unmelted Brie on it. That was their mushroom and "Brie" soup. It was out of a carton. Probably from Publix. The floor under our table looked like a whole corn muffin broke apart, the placemats and napkins were old and faded. The table sticky. Wait staff slow and uninformed about menu. Reason given for our service... a big crowd before (less than 10 people were eating when we were) and a health inspection was happening!!!!!! Paid too much and never going back! Yuck

I had a great dinner here last night! The entire menu was calling my name but I went with the seabass special and did not regret it! Such high quality produce and service was excellent as well! The back patio is great to sit out with a drink and enjoy the ambience.

Went for a bourbon tasting. Great experience! Highly recommend any of the special programs that they present at The Mark. The staff (as always) are on point and extremely helpful. The presentation was interesting and well informed. The audience was engaged and very interactive. Can't wait to come back for the next one!

Met another couple for dinner and each one of us ordered different dishes and all were excellent! Roger, our server, had a great personality and took great care of us, anticipating our needs while not being intrusive. We were there on a weeknight, so I imagine there were a few less people, which allowed us to have good conversation without feeling like we were competing to be heard. Overall a terrific experience and we look forward to going back!

First off the food was delicious. But, the service was horrible. We sat down and another table next to use was finishing their dessert. They finished, payed the bill and another group was seated. We still had not had anyone come take a drink order. Took 15 mins for drinks. The table next to us got bread, drinks and their order taken. Finally came for our order and I asked about bread. Server says, “oh, you want bread? Sometimes people have a gluten allergy.” Um, ok so you don't even ask?? Specials were told to us with no prices. I ordered one of the specials, sea bass. The food arrived FINALLY (appetizer came out 1 min before entries) and again although the food was delicious it was WAY over priced. $54 for sea bass. The bill with drinks was over $200. We eat out ALOT and will go to all types and many fine dining. We have no issue spending money on a great meal and evening but I also know how much things should cost and sea bass should not be $54. Plus, the cost of the meal also should reflect the entire evening, not just the food. The service was terrible and over priced.

The dining experience at the Mark at Elon was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and so was the service. A very welcoming place and nice atmosphere. Have already made reservations to go back two more times in February. Highly recommend.

Food was ridiculously overpriced as well as mixed drinks. Music was a nice touch. Missed the complimentary glass of wine that you served last year. Service was rushed (salad half eaten when entree arrived). Tiny table for two was crowded and so close to the next couple, we could have eaten each other's food. I expected better from the Mark as I have dined there several times before. Seemed a very popular place to dine on Valentine's evening so guess there is no need to expect a change.

Our first visit here was outstanding. We had an early dinner and it was not crowded so the service was great. The food was very good from the Brussel sprouts appetizer to the cheesecake dessert. There was a wonderful vegetarian option for me and my husband enjoyed his halibut dish.

When we arrived, our table wasn't ready so we had a drink at the bar, where the service was good despite being very busy. We were seated not too much later. The food was very good. Brussels sprouts very crispy. We also had a charcuterie board. We ordered soup and our main entree's were shrimp and grits and crab cakes. Everything was delicious. The cake we had for dessert was dry, though. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. Our server was very inattentive. Not once did she make eye contact with us when she was walking around. Anytime we needed something, like another drink, we had to flag someone else down to get it. We also made it clear to her when we ordered that we wanted our courses to not arrive at the same time. She said she would stagger them, however, she brought out our main entree's while we were still eating our appetizers and soup. We ordered coffee with our dessert (from another server) and when our server came to clear our dessert dishes, she literally took away a half cup of coffee without even asking if we were done. Another server was very helpful and I wish she had been assigned our table the entire time. Our server made the experience not so nice.

They continue to improve. Definitely some hiccups. Wife is gluten free (shared when we made reservation). One person told us there were no gluten free options for charcuterie, one said they would check, and a third brought out toast points (gf) about the time we had finished the appetizer. Ordered a steak (the special) asked for it medium rare. Delivered to the table as well done. They took it back willingly but the repayment didn't come until wife was completely done with her dinner. Mistakes happen and you try to recover. (Well most restaurants try to recover, not here) However, this restaurant still seems unaware of the bar that is set in this price point. The benefits of the scholarship program and location get overshadowed by the sort comings in delivery. I will continue to support their efforts but I am hopeful they raise their bar.

A very nice place to have a good meal with service to match. The food was excellent, though the ribeye special was significantly overpriced. The restaurant is hidden inside the Elon Inn and signage would be helpful.

Dinner last night at The Mark at Elon was great! Steak were very good and cooked just right. Dessert was very very good - bourbon pecan pie! Beyond everything else being great, I admit that our server was exceptionally nic and attentive. She was the understated star of the show!
