Grits tasted like grease. Eclectic playlist was not the right vibe at all. Chicken sandwich was decent. Tomato soup was great. After two visits, service was awesome but not enough to bring us back.

We've been here a few times over the years. Consistency with quality and service. Shrimp and scallop burger with fries is my #1 go-to. The blended Brussels burger is good too. Busy place and they do not take reservations. The rectangle plates are a little tricky because the food spills over, some waste unfortunately.

The Root Trackside was delicious!! We went for lunch based on a recommendation my daughter saw on the Elon University Instagram page, and we had just taken a tour of the campus. I had grilled cheese with spinach and tomatoes and a cup of tomato basil soup. I am not kidding when I say it was the best grilled cheese I've ever had! And the soup was fantastic, too. The atmosphere and service were wonderful! Would definitely recommend it!!
