Backporch Baking Co provides the vegan pastries and overall they are truly amazing. I wish there were a bit more options via the cafe for vegans, including more savory pastries, a soup and a good sandwich. They can "veganify" almost any drink and the PB&C smoothie is great for a bit of sweetness. Would love to see a few more smoothie options as well, especially ones minus the sugary ingredients. The vegan gelato is a great addition and the staff is fantastic. Always warm and welcoming. Sadly, no dogs allowed so I grab to go; lastly, the coffee is probably the best coffee I have had in Asheville. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-17

It's called all is well but all is not well when you don't have healthy options and the options you have result in unnecessary violence toward animals. The egg laying industry is horrific. The female must lay around 250 eggs a year instead of a dozen like she wouldn't normally. Imagine A woman having to have a period 20 times more frequently. And millions of male chicks are ground up alive because they aren't useful to the egg laying industry. And eggs aren't safe or even necessarily healthy when you compare them to things like oatmeal.
Oatmeal is so easy to make, affordable, you can get it organic, offer it to your customers and then all will be well.
I drove there this morning to get breakfast and the only option for me were the pastries. But that's not going to make me well that's going to make me sick. People don't need to start off the day eating pastries. So I want somewhere else to get something to eat. The coffee was good though!

The only vegan food option was stuffed grape leaves, which were ok. Maybe they were having problems sourcing vegan options the day I went.
We stopped in for coffee and thought the staff was absolutely precious. The barista at the counter was super sweet and you could tell she loved her job, loved coffee, and was excited to help you pick something out. They have milk alternatives available and practically any drink can be made vegan.
I'm disappointed that the price of coffee fluctuates so much. For 2 days, I paid 2.99 for a refill, but today, it was 3.90. I know it's hard to get coffee right now because of the water, but please be consistent.
Parking: The lady who helped me the first time was super kind and sweet

Perfect spot for a drizzly mountain afternoon.
A very warm and charming cafe that indeed makes you feel that ‘all is well’. The staff are kind and set a welcoming atmosphere that’s great for getting work done, or having a meeting.
Latte was great, didn’t taste burnt, and the GF dutch chocolate muffin pictured was a great addition. You’d never guess it was gluten free.
Definitely a place to visit while you’re in the Hendersonville area.

What a wonderful, friendly, and cozy place!
Under new management (and a new name), I ventured back in recently. And I was blown away! Ashley, one of the co-owners, was there, and she and her staff were so friendly and welcoming!
Come in for coffee in the morning, grab a snack at noon, and then make sure to stop back in late afternoon to pick up after-dinner snacks and browse the shops. Everything is simply delicious, so make time to try them all.
This is my new neighborhood hangout. I work from home, and I long for connection or sometimes just a place to take my laptop in the middle of the day. There's a laptop bar inside and great Wifi as well.
Drop in and support this local business as much as you can!

Cute little cafe and coffee shop. They had more pastries and food options then I thought they would. There are vegetarian options. Free parking available in the small lot in front on the store. The staff were friendly. They have different kinds of seating available inside.
