This was our first experience with Sakura. The restaurant was spacious and welcoming. We thought we were in for a fine dining experience. Our friends ordered sushi, my husband and I, hibachi. This is when things began to go south. Our simple salads arrived ten minutes after we placed our orders. Ten minutes after that, the waitress delivered our friends' sushi. They waited awhile before digging in, but finally gave up and started without us. A full thirty minutes went by before the hibachi plates were delivered, during which time the waitress never even visited our table to give us hope that our dinner was on the way. When it finally arrived, the steak was dry and the shrimp somewhat cool. Everything on the plate tasted like everything else on the plate - as though it had all been steamed together in the same pot. All together, a great disappointment. The atmosphere and high prices boded so much more.

I met my daughters and their Dad here for dinner. This was my first time eating at Sakura. My daughters have ordered take out before and they said it wasn't impressive but were looking forward to giving them another shot. There was a 45 min. wait which was no big deal as we spent the time visiting. Our server was very friendly as was the hostess. We ordered the hibachi chicken, hibachi shrimp, Philly roll, and Sakura roll. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp, and the the chicken was cooked perfectly though the vegetables were scarce. A few zucchini sticks with 2 carrot slices that were overcooked. My younger daughters Philly roll was good, the Sakura roll was not. I assume perhaps the oil it was fried in wasn't hot enough, as the inside of the roll was mush and saturated in oil. She didn't want to complain but it was inedible. I told our server of the problem and she said she would "give them the feedback". I ended up giving her my meal to eat since she couldn't eat hers. I should have taken the initiative to ask the server to get her something else but after such a long wait she was to hungry to wait. Our server came by the table a couple more times and saw I had given her my meal but nothing was said and there was no discount given for the inedible food. There were definitely good aspects of the meal but overall I do not recommend and it's doubtful I would return. $90 and I left hungry. Very disappointing.

Spicy chicken curry was a big bowl of non-spicy soup with chicken and veggies. Very mediocre. Miso soup and clear soup was warm water with very little flavor.
Our gyoza and crab Rangoon was pretty good!
Chicken stir fry was ok, the udon noodles were nice. Chicken was flavorless. Our waitress was really nice and worked hard, the food was just exceedingly mid

Amazing that after living in Miami, FL, Annapolis, MD, Atlanta GA, Vienna, VA and Columbia, SC we found the best Sushi in Franklin, NC.
While at Sakura I had the best experience, definitely sit at the bar when Paige is working. She has a natural talent, you get the best service with her. An amazing girl. Will definitely be returning because of her! 11/10 experience :)
