The food was good as usual. It is café type food, down home cooking. The turkey dinner is great.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately & the service was excellent. The food was tasty & the prices are very affordable. 💯 % will be back! Their pies are phenomenal.

My husband and I frequently dine at The Sunset and have been pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. We recently brought two friends who were visiting from out of town. Upon arriving the hostess turned her back on us to chat with other customers and took her sweet time seating us. And when she finally came over to seat us she asked if we wanted separate tables—-what was that about? The server was abrupt and not very friendly. It was very uncomfortable and awkward. And then it hit me! WOW! I thought people looked beyond the color of one’s skin, as one of my friends was Bahamian and the other African American. So disappointed that some folks have not moved beyond such an obvious difference in attitude towards them and us. Maybe they have never been around people of color? We won’t be dining there anymore.

We tried this local place a few times when we first moved to Franklin. The breakfast is their best food. We tried it & lunch. The food is just ok. Some things taste like they are “food service” things that come out of a can.
Sometimes we’d get a nice waitress and a couple times, a waitress that was not friendly because she did not know us. We quit eating there.

Cheerful decor greeted on our recent visit. We were invited to choose our table that includes a beautiful dahlia in a small vase. I had the Tuesday special turkey dinner while hubby chose the large order of fried chicken. I love Turkey but I only cook one at Thanksgiving, so it was a treat for me to enjoy it with cranberry sauce. The chicken came straight from the fryer pipping hot. We will visit again soon.
