Little bakery that I was excited to try. Counter guy was super helpful with suggestions and steered me to a chocolate cake scrap cup that was to die for. Average scones and not great cupcake. Nothing felt super fresh. Super cute downtown vibe but I was the only customer in there said it was my first time and the what seemed to be owner/bakers ignored me completely. The counter guy was great but it was a small shop and if I heard it was a customers first time in I would have looked up or greeted them. Cookies were just ok nothing felt fresh. I would go back for the cake cup but only if I was in the area.

Great customer service, beautiful cakes and absolutely delicious! Our cake was the talk of the baby shower! Nana’s Lil Sweets is now our go to bakery for special events or when craving something sweet! Thank you Barbara and staff…fantastic job! 🙌🏼🥰

Just happened to come across this shop at the perfect time, on my wifes birthday. Got a nice assortment of treats, staff was super friendly.

Been by here a few times now and it hits every time! Unfortunately with all of the commercialization that is happening in the triangle area, small bakeries like this are very hard to find. Glad to have something like this in Garner. The almond croissant and stuffed cookies are delicious!

Tried this bakery for the first time today and was underwhelmed. I’m a cupcake enthusiast so I was excited to try theirs. I bought four cupcakes, each a different flavor. The first bite I took of the vanilla cupcake was incredibly salty. I asked the staff if they use buttercream which she confirmed, but the icing tasted like a store bought whipped icing. The strawberry cupcake tasted exactly like the vanilla. I haven’t tried the other two cupcakes and don’t know if I will. The price point is great and I think this place has potential, but their recipes need some improvement. Also possible I could’ve gotten a bad batch..

Ordered a vegan 4” cake for my daughter’s cake smash photoshoot. It was perfect and delicious! Could not ask for a better experience especially when working with food allergies. Very communicative and kind from first email to pickup. I’ll be ordering again!

Excellent bakery with excellent gluten free options. Gluten free carrot cupcake was 10/10 even if you aren't gluten free. Cream cheese frosting is perfect. Not to sweet. Friendly service. Cannot wait for the next trip.

The products are amazing! It’s the service that ruins this place for me.

Ive been in several times, and the young cashiers are super sweet but everyone seems like they are on thin ice with one older lady who’s there most of the time. I want to say she’s the owner, but she’s never been polite enough to say her name. In addition, this same woman has taken 2 orders from me and told me “she would do it but she’s picking the flavors” or “she’s too busy” and just seems miserable that they have business in general. I had one younger girl lean over the counter and whisper to tell me she’d have to ask if she could take a 2 dozen cupcake order (3 days out, so my fault for coming in last minute) because they were super busy and the older lady didn’t like making certain things unless it’s way in advance; that just caught me off guard and made me feel bad for the girl….

That being said, this is the perfect location for a bakery, the products are super yummy, and we intend to continue to shop here and local in general because we love our community - but I would definitely recommend to management that everyone smile and be friendly and not make your customers feel like they are a burden…

Man, where do I start ! I just want to say I love a good sweet and so does my husband but when I tried Nanas cookies I brought 2 and went in the car to try it and immediately went right back in and brought more! I was hooked! They are so good and when I say it’s not an ordinary cookie! This cookie had love and kindness in it truly had the fruits of the spirit in these cookies and pastries! GOD is truly living through Nana, the interaction everytime I walk in there is so peaceful and pleasant ! Once I looked up her website and read her blog and she talked about Jesus I knew that I was at the right place and I understood why her sweets were so good! I will always come back here and tell more people about this place! May God continue to bless you Nana and may your business continue to flourish. God will always provide for those who follow and obey him, continue possessing the fruits of the spirit. With love ! Deborah! EVERYONE PLEASE GO SEE NANA ! You won’t regret it !!!

We love to come to Nana’s! We have been regularly visiting since she opened her store and have only had good experiences. Her cream cheese cinnamon rolls are a favorite of my oldest son. I don’t like cake, but the cakes at Nanas are amazing!
We just today sat in the bakery to eat our treats and watched them bring out fresh baked focaccia bread. We ordered a spicy focaccia bread. Wow!!!! It was so good! Moist, perfectly seasoned. We’re going to come back and buy some for sandwiches this week!

I wanted to give the place a chance, since it’s been around the corner for a while. Unfortunately, all of the pastries and cookies were dry, the muffins especially so. The manager was very nice, but the lad working the service counter was moving extremely slowly and didn’t wear gloves to get my items. Probably not returning and wouldn’t recommend to others. Merch was cute though and jam was good.

I saw the word “bread” on the window, so one day I came in to check it out. It was a bit crowded, so I just asked politely, “Where is your bread section, please?” Obviously I was looking for loaves of any kind — Brötchen, whatever.

The man behind the counter looked at me with a smirk and said, “Do you SEE any bread?”

I have no idea where that attitude came from — but honestly, it was disgusting. If you wanted me to leave because it was too busy, fine.

But treating someone like that? No thanks. Never coming back.

We’ve stopped here several times. Initially, I was so excited to find this small-batch bakery in the very small Garner downtown area. Unfortunately, the shine has worn off because of several experiences that fall short.

Most recently, I purchased a small bag of small chocolate chip cookies (pictured). For $6.25, I received 10 small cookies, US quarter shown for scale, including several cookies that appear to have *A* chocolate chip. I guess the label, Chocolate Chip, is literal. @ least 1 has 0 chocolate chips.

On another visit, I arrived 2 or 3 minutes before they opened. Instead of unlocking the door to let me in seconds before their posted hours of operation start, a staff member stood feet away playing around with item positioning on a shelf…. just the other side of the glass…. *&* left me standing @ the door, unacknowledged, for a few *extra* minutes, unlocking the door several minutes after posted opening…

On a separate occasion, I stopped by to grab fresh cinnamon roles for an early morning meeting. Pro Tip: their cinnamon roles are frozen; if you want a fresh cinnamon role with your morning coffee, this isn’t your bakery.

Also, they’re still flipping the COVID-19 tip board @ check-out while also having a physical tip jar right there. How are they unable to properly pay their staff @ their prices? These margins aren’t small, but they still expect 18% or more to pass an item across the counter.

Some items have been very good. Others seem to follow more of a ‘kitchen sink’ approach with any & everything thrown into a cookie or pastry. KISS is atypical here.

Some days, they seem customer oriented, others, they don’t mind sending the vibe that you’re a bother. I’ve walked out on more than one occasion without making a purchase. These chocolate chip cookies are the last attempt I give to this small business. I’ll look for another in the area that I can support when I’m in the neighborhood.

I don’t ask to speak to the manager. I do understand that we’re all human beings doing our best & some days are better than others. I like to support small business. YMMV with this place; GL!
