We had the kids plate combination of BBQ and fried chicken. The food was great. The price was even better. The portions were spot on and it was hot and freshly prepared. Great job ti all involved. I'll be back. Soon!!

I went there tonight to eat and when I was drinking my tea I found gnats in it. The waitress then asked if I wanted another tea which was not what you would ask after finding gnats. This means the sanitation is not good and they at least don’t clean their tea urns. I was a kitchen manager for years and know if they don’t clean those then everything else doesn’t get cleaned. I would hate to see why the kitchen looks like. Oh and all they took off was my tea. Never going there again. So watch what you drink there.

Food was ok but service sucked. The black server was rude. Took the sheriff’s order before he took our order. And when he took the order he was rude and said some inappropriate comments. Service sucked today.

The food is good but this place should shut down for a day or two for a good cleaning. The floors are VERY SLIPPERY and the tables are too. We had the family style meal and it was delicious. We got the seafood option. We had shrimp, oysters and trout. We also got fried and baked chicken, turkey and pork barbecue, collards, baked potatoes, slaw and hushpuppys. And they will keep bringing it out as you request it. It was $19.99 per person. And it was good because we had not eaten all day.

This is a great down home NC BBQ/soulfood restaurant. It's alot like home cooking! They have excellent daily specials, great entrees, and a good selection of sides & desserts. The staff is friendly, and I never had an issue with a single order in the many years that I've been going here. They get packed in the evenings, and parking can be a bit questionable during those times, and that should speak for how good they are!
September 11, 2025. Drive thru SUCKS!! Sat in line 35 minutes. Was only 3 cars in front of me. You need better management. This long time has never happened before. What has happened here?? The owner is probably not here tonight that’s why slow service. Where is David??
