Azteca Family Mexican Restaurant

I drove 30 minutes to get barria tacos. I have eaten that Barriataco in concord, multiple food trucks and another spot in Gastonia. All of these places were absolutely delicious and cheaper by at least $10 for two orders. I Never take time to review things on Google, but these were literally the worst tacos I have ever gotten. The tortillas were slimy (not just greasy, literally slimy) And the meat was just big chunks with tons of fat and barely any cheese. The meat wasn’t even shredded or pulled. Two of my tacos had so much fat there was almost no meat in them. I’m so disappointed that I wasted over $45 On one of my favorite things to eat when I could’ve gone to a food truck and paid even less with a tip and had delicious food.

I got cheese dip which was good and the quesabirria tacos. The tacos where good just didn't have enough meat for the price, they had more cheese and more fat than meat on two of them. I will give them another try one day.

This is one of my favorite spots! The food is flavorful, and the service is always friendly. I usually have a great experience, but this time they forgot my tortilla shells—even though it was on the receipt. Unfortunately, I live too far away to go back, so that was a bit disappointing. Still, the overall quality keeps me coming back.

I don't recommend it, terrible service and the food is not good at all. Today I went with my husband to eat at this restaurant. I ordered shrimp ala diabla, they are ala diabla because they are not, rather they are made with tomato sauce, my husband ordered a broth that I don't remember the name of the dish but the shrimp were ugly black

Parking: Over 30 parking including handicap access and wheelchair friendly as well

Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere for kids with TV's to occupy them.

They changed the menu since my last visit. The pics were very helpful when choosing my meals prior to this new menu with no helpful pics. I ended up ordering the steak fajitas tonight, almost begging the waiter to ensure my steak was cooked medium rare. He absolutely promised his life that it would be so! Every mexican restaurant I've been to seems to cook the steak extra extra well....Anyways, I received my food, and of course, it came cooked very, very well, lol. And I wasn't disappointed as I was more amused as I already knew!!!! And the original waiter that took my order, never was the returning waiter, as I'm sure he already knew that it would be cooked very, very well regardless. Again, it is amusing. The lady that bussed the tables was way more helpful with refills on the beers and the salsa than the actual waiter that replaced the original waiter. Rosetta was her name, I think, and she deserves to be memtioned and possibly moved to the head waiter position, in my opinion. I will definitely return.

I would give the Azteca a 5* but they no longer give to a sugar tortilla w strawberry sauce. Pay 8 for? I just enjoy one. It made this place unique *

We eat at Azteca every chance we get, and every time I try something new. I've never been disappointed, their food is always with authentic flavors and very enjoyable. If you like authentic Mexican cuisine, check them out, you will not be disappointed!!
