I got four large slice barbecue sandwiches four fries four drinks. I’ve been eating at blacks For over 40 years. Very disappointed in my sandwiches today. Large barbecue was not even as big as the smallest sandwich should be. The sandwich’s are usually pretty thick. This time had very little meat. It was almost a slaw sandwich. I left hungry.

This place has been here since I was a little girl!! The homemade cherry lemon Sundrop is great and the special bbq slaw is the best! They are a family owned business that has been here for years. If you’re a local you know. Thy are always nothing but nice and courteous, so I’m not sure why there are some bad reviews, it is definitely not a fancy place but the food is great!!

I absolutely love it when we stop in gastonia at this local staple in any kids live that grew up in gastonia, lake wylie or clover. I always usually get the sliced bbq sandwich large with of course the slaw, it is the best slaw I have ever had on a bbq sandwich. This time I didn't get pictures of the bbq sandwich only the curly cheese dog sandwich which is the best hotdog sandwich with slaw, cheese and chili on it and the best part it is its not as messy as a regular hotdog bun. They cut the hotdog where it gets crispy and omg shape it in a circle. This sandwich smacks every time. The service is old school like a drive in only ring missing is roller skates, and always greeted within a minute!!! Always great service and food and reasonably priced. Was $15 for a large bbq, small bbq and curly dog sandwich:) if you also haven't tried their homemade cherry lemon sundrop you are missing out! Make sure to take cash as they are old school cash only which I love!!!!
RO's is trash compared to this place. love the food and they have actual barbecue! Prices are fantastic. Please give this restaurant the service they deserve; you won't regret it!

Ate there a lot when I lived in Gastonia. Food is delicious. However, went by on 10/19/24 around 5 pm. Pulled in and then had 2 other cars pull in right after. When the young man came out to our cars to get orders, he went to the other 2 cars and completely ignored me. So I got out to go inside to put my order in. As I was walking to the entrance I saw the young man walk to the other as side and take orders from the cars parked over there. This happened about a year ago also, the last time I was in town. It's a shame the service is poor because the food is so good. Very disappointed.
