Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

The ice cream was great! The service was great!
My issue is that l tipped Cash in the tip jars.
The jars are clearly marked that the tips are for the employees.
I was informed that the MANAGEMENT KEEPS THE EMPLOYEES CASH TIPS. The staff gets their credit card tips,, but Not Cash.
This is Not acceptable
This is deceptive.
I will Not be returning to Handles.
I hate a thief.
That is exactly what that is..Theft.

So many flavors! You get a good amount for your money. It comes with lots of chunks of your chose thing, cookie dough or brownies or whatever. We really enjoy it!

The BEST ice cream ever!! It’s smooth, creamy, and packed with chunks of yummy ingredients (based on the flavor(s) you choose). Monkey Business, Pineapple Upside Down, and Coconut Carmel Delight are my favorites! They offer free samples you can be sure to pick your favorites. The customer service is always great as well. The only downside for this location is that there isn’t really any indoor seating, just a couple benches. So we always get ours to go and eat while driving down the road. I wish there was indoor seating so we could stay and fully enjoy this sweet treat!

AMAZING HOMEMADE ICE CREAM!
The staff is always so friendly and professional. I couldn't believe how flavorful the butter pecan was. So MANY pecans! Plus, they really pile it on. Well worth the price! I'll always go to Handel's whenever I'm in Gastonia, NC.

The ice cream was typically yummy. Nothing outstanding. They do not use real whipped cream (used store bought cannister style), the toppings also tasted and texture like grocery store mid range. The kids working were all *very nice*.

The biggie was that we noticed first that the entry way rug was so DISGUSTING. Ugh. It grossed me out sooooo much. It was busy. Yes. Hoppin. People in n out but cleanliness should ALWAYS be TOP priority in an establishment that serves customers in any genre but especially in FOOD service.

The whole place felt a bit grimy, but once I saw that rug, i automatically assumed everything was probably dirty.

I'm sad to give this review. Such a possibility of a place with loads of outdoor *impromptu* seating. That was fun. But again, bc it felt dirty, we did not want to sit at any of the tables since we assumed they would all be grimy.

The Key Lime Pie shake is awesome.

Get the watermelon ice! It's so refreshing. The cinnamon graham cracker was divine. Service was good. My only complaint was that they were out of a lot of flavors when I visited. Nonetheless, I definitely recommend Handel's.

Would give 0 stars if possible! I came on Tuesday 06/10/2025 around 8pm.A young man with blonde hair who doesn’t wear his hat, was very rude and snarky to my me and my children when we came into the store. He had my children crying and extremely upset. Will not be returning!

They were out of the flavors we wanted.
