Cash only, but great food, and the best bananna pudding anywhere. I just wish resturant pricing would back down a bit. I have eaten there since 99, and its the best food, but remembering a $10 meal that is now $22! That is for the 1/4 chicken plate, with hushpuppies and fries, with a large ice tea and a bananna pudding, so a great deal by todays inflated rates!

I have been going to the shrimp boat for years. Since the Tidwells sold it out the guy that’s got it now. I guess he has still got it. The quality of the food has just gone down down down. The last time I went there, the food wasn’t Great, but not bad. Went there today just to get a chicken leg and a piece of fish. That was the nastiest food I believe I’ve ever put in my mouth. I don’t believe they have changed the grease in that place since the guy bought it from the Tidwells several years ago. I would not recommend this place to anybody to go and eat. This used to be a great place to go eat at lunch place was packed. If I had 10 thumbs I would give them 10 thumbs down . Will never go back

$50 and the only thing that was decent and that didn't taste like grease was the ranch and tea. Chicken, fries and hush puppies all tasted like month old grease. I could smell the grease on the way home and should have been an indicator. Will be a while before we come back. Change the oil!

What happened to this place? My great grandfather was the building's architect and plan advisor for its construction and I used to go there all the time in the 90's and early 2000's with my family. This place used to be amazing with great food and and great people but it seems y'all have lost your passion to serve the greater community around you. I remember back in the day how warm and inviting the place was and now it's just a stale old piece of toast. The Hush-puppies were good but the rest of that food tasted so old and awful. The shrimp boat is not at all what it was and I'm very disappointed. Gastonia itself in the 90's and early 2000's was a cool place

There is plenty of room to park and eat. Great food! The chicken livers & fries dipped in delicious tarter sauce were a fantastic meal. Highly recommend.

Onions rings fried too hard and flaky but generous portions. The flounder is ok but needed more than 1 tartar sauce also loved the hush puppies.

This is the absolute worst place we have EVER eaten. The fish was hard and tasted like very old grease. Charged for tarter sauce. I can't believe a supposed fish place charged for tarter sauce. It was so bad most of my food went in the trash.

Not what I recall from a few years ago. Something different. Not sure what. Used to be the best shrimp and chicken in town but now is just okay. I seem to get this same quality from a lot of places. Maybe a slightly different process or using a healthier way of frying... Not sure.
