Our family was a big party of nine but because we were traveling with our dog (not a service canine), family went in and I stayed out in the truck with our pup. My wife ordered for me and was about to bring it outside to me. Waitress said, you sit and enjoy your meal, I’ll bring it out to him. Meghan the server is phenomenal! She made sure my dinner for the night was simply amazing! She realized our trays did not have pickles on it. She went the extra mile to make sure my baby had everything he needed to make sure his meal was great! She even gave great suggestions on what to order. The Smoke Pit in Gastonia offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and great service, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy BBQ. While the BBQ here is good, fans of the Smoke Pit may notice that other locations do have an edge when it comes to the depth of flavor and tenderness in the meat. Similarly, the sauces here are tasty but may not quite reach the bold flavors found at their other spots.

That said, this location still captures the essence of the Smoke Pit...
