I do not know what has happened to this place over the years but it has gone down hill. I went tonight for example, and asked for teriyaki chicken and fried rice,, extra teriyaki and what I get is dry chicken, no teriyaki whatsoever, and white rice! The lady at the window, was not friendly and not sure she even understood what I ordered. I would have taken it back to get refund except for I was back at work already and could not leave. Poor experience yet again from this place I used to love. Won't be back

Dietary restrictions: THE MAN THAT WORKED TONIGHT WAS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL! The food had NO FLAVOR, The meat tasted like rubber! It was not even enough food for one person , and he put an opened soy sauce packed in the bag that had spilled everywhere!!! I forgot to include that !!!! I let him know my food was supposed to be cooked all the way and he started talking junk , then said give him the food back because they are closing. It would’ve been fine if he had said it in a polite manner but he was raising his voice , and walked away. He said he was “ Done talking to me”. I will be calling corporate in the morning

It's always a pleasant experience going to Yamatos. The owner always interacts with the customers and he's super nice. Hate they don't have help to open inside, but it's still the best Japanese restaurant to eat at.Definitely my go to when I want Japanese food.I'd give them 10+ stars

**They charge your card twice and will not refund you!!** Worst experience I’ve had with this restaurant. I’ve been eating here since they opened and have never had an issue until yesterday (12-01-2023). I’ve read other reviews of this situation happening to people who have bought food here, saying to only pay with cash and not card, and I thought it was a bunch of croc because I’ve ALWAYS had great and quick customer service. All of our food was undercooked, no sanitary practices, and very rude and argumentative owners not seeming to want to correct the issue. They also tried to yank my receipt away from me so I wouldn’t have proof of them charging me twice. Needless to say, I will no longer be returning as a loyal customer.
