If one loves French food then Saint Jacques is the place to go to! Great choices, delicious dishes, and very attentive and friendly staff. Superb food and service.

Fabulous restaurant! The service was excellent, the food was very good but not exceptional. I ordered a vesper cocktail and they had no Lillet Blanc which is a main ingredient so I ordered a Manhattan straight up which was very good but it came with maraschino cherry like what you would get on a sundae. There are better choices in cherries. We were also surprised they never offered a sommelier to help with the wine selection. We are snobs when dining and our expectations are rather high. We were delighted they were busy on a Thursday night. We like supporting small restaurants.I would certainly return.

Great food, service and ambiance. Also a Bed and Breakfast so stay over and have a great breakfast too.

Excellent service today. Just a girls luncheon today. The ambiance was superior. I've been there several times. It never disappoints. Feeling like I'm in France! Food was good. Typically don't care for French cuisine, as there are too many sauces. The food today... seafood crepe was excellent. I was able to pick through the crepe and sauce. Flavor of the seafood...mostly shrimp and salmon was excellent.

Outstanding experience. We had driven from Raleigh to have lunch. David, the server, could not have been better? Attentive, competent, informative. Answered all questions. Will definitely go back. Lovely house and grounds.

We had a wonderful evening. Christian was our server and he was “excellent” and we also had David wait on us as well who was also excellent. The food was very good. I had the salmon which was excellent and my partner had the grouper which he loved. We would definitely recommend

While the restaurant showed promise, our overall experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the price point. Upon entering, we noted a faint musty odor in the dining room that detracted from the ambiance. Our server brought what were described as fresh wine glasses, yet one contained a residual liquid, which was concerning. Additionally, although we specifically ordered bottled water, we were served tap instead, but was corrected. The escargots, though presented hot, were surprisingly lacking in flavor. Bread service was minimal—offered only once—and no follow-up was made. On a more positive note, the scallop entrée was well-executed and quite flavorful, though the scallops themselves were noticeably smaller than anticipated. We are not inclined to complain over the cost of dining when quality and service are commensurate, but in this instance, the value simply wasn't there. Regrettably, it was not an experience we would be eager to repeat.

Service was exceptional! Christian is a knowledgeable server and was engaged without being too chummy. We shared a charcuterie board as an appetizer and it was good but not remarkable. Husband had the venison special and it was excellent. I was less enthusiastic about the grouper. It was kind of bland and mushy. Desserts were very tasty. I had crème brûlée and he had an apple crumble kind of thing. Very pleasant surroundings. Will go again!

Food was not really French... escargots did not have any garlic, cheese dessert was more American with jam and the Brie had a weak flavor and was hard and not creamy plus the cheese portions were minimal.... Not at all like a cheese service in France. Not sure if the French chef was actually in the kitchen that night. Thought the prices were high for the value. Go for the ambience, not for the food.

We went to St. Jacques years ago in Raleigh and were very disappointed when it closed. I learned recently that Chef Lil and his wife Lori had opened this restaurant (and the attached B&B) and was so excited to go! The food was excellent, and the creme brulee was still probably the best we've ever had!

The best French onion soup in the world. All entrées, drinks and desserts are phenomenal. Service is top-notch.
