While the restaurant showed promise, our overall experience did not meet expectations, particularly given the price point. Upon entering, we noted a faint musty odor in the dining room that detracted from the ambiance. Our server brought what were described as fresh wine glasses, yet one contained a residual liquid, which was concerning. Additionally, although we specifically ordered bottled water, we were served tap instead, but was corrected. The escargots, though presented hot, were surprisingly lacking in flavor. Bread service was minimal—offered only once—and no follow-up was made. On a more positive note, the scallop entrée was well-executed and quite flavorful, though the scallops themselves were noticeably smaller than anticipated. We are not inclined to complain over the cost of dining when quality and service are commensurate, but in this instance, the value simply wasn't there. Regrettably, it was not an experience we would be eager to repeat.
Service was exceptional! Christian is a knowledgeable server and was engaged without being too chummy. We shared a charcuterie board as an appetizer and it was good but not remarkable. Husband had the venison special and it was excellent. I was less enthusiastic about the grouper. It was kind of bland and mushy. Desserts were very tasty. I had crème brûlée and he had an apple crumble kind of thing. Very pleasant surroundings. Will go again!
The food was phenomenal! The staff were amazing and very attentive! We will definitely be going back! Highly recommend!!
Food was not really French... escargots did not have any garlic, cheese dessert was more American with jam and the Brie had a weak flavor and was hard and not creamy plus the cheese portions were minimal.... Not at all like a cheese service in France. Not sure if the French chef was actually in the kitchen that night. Thought the prices were high for the value. Go for the ambience, not for the food.
We went to St. Jacques years ago in Raleigh and were very disappointed when it closed. I learned recently that Chef Lil and his wife Lori had opened this restaurant (and the attached B&B) and was so excited to go! The food was excellent, and the creme brulee was still probably the best we've ever had!
The best French onion soup in the world. All entrées, drinks and desserts are phenomenal. Service is top-notch.
This is by far the highest rated restaurant and inn in the state
Saint Jacques was an exceptional dining experience. Situated in the beautiful Burke Manor Inn, French cuisine that was delicious and the presentation was wonderful. Our waiter, David, was very attentive, professional and warm. I can't say enough about this restaurant experience. Well worth the trip from Raleigh to Gibsonville
We always go to Saint Jacques at the Burke Manor Inn for special occasions. Last night did not disappoint. Fabulous food, excellent service by David and Kyle, beautiful atmosphere. My halibut and the corn and carrot soup (both on special) were fabulous, as was the strawberry sorbet. My partner had the surf and turf and the foie gras specials. He said that the foie gras was excellent but he was a bit disappointed in the steak. However, the homemade truffle flavored mac-and-cheese that came with the entree was a nice treat. He finished his dinner with the cheese and fruit plate, which he always enjoys. Our guest said that the short ribs were excellent and she did not leave a drop of her creme brulee dessert. The bordeaux wine that we shared was wonderful. Thank you, Lori and Chef Lil for another fabulous evening! See you again soon, I hope!
Amazing food and service. Portions were perfect and just enough to keep us full. Will be back!

My husband and I celebrated my birthday by having dinner at the Burke Manor Inn. How delightful our evening was. Our meal was absolutely amazing! The food was divine as we're our cocktails and the bottle of wine selected by our server, who by the way, was the best ever! Everything was impeccable and this fine dining experience was beyond compare! Thanks to all who made our evening special and memorable!
This is such a special place, and we highly recommend it to everyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience, which is relaxing and truly the best in our area. The chef prepares every detail with such care.
Beautiful mix of flavors and unique menu items. The Chef/Owner came over to our table and greeted us. Staff was attentive and polite. Lovely setting for a luncheon. The grounds are well maintained, and they have a pavilion to allow for weddings and large events.
Excellent restaurant and service. Beautiful grounds and landscaping. Food is nicely prepared and tasty. Portions were good. Wish there was a more extensive cocktail menu.
Outstanding French food in a beautiful historic home. The menu is great! The food is expensive but worth the price!
