Stopped in at the Outback Steakhouse in Goldsboro, and mate… it was a full-blown flavor expedition! I came in hungry and left in a blissful food coma with a slight Australian accent. The steak was grilled to perfection—medium rare, just how I like it—juicy, tender, and seasoned like it went to culinary grad school.
The Bloomin’ Onion? Let’s just say it bloomed its way right into my heart. Crispy, golden, and probably responsible for 95% of my happiness that day. The bread? Warm and addictive. The service? Sharper than a steak knife and twice as friendly. I wouldn’t be surprised if the server had psychic powers—she knew I wanted dessert before I even did.
After a long day of crawling through crawlspaces and evicting ants, termites, and things that go bump in the attic, D & D Pest Control Co. finds peace in a hot steak and a cold drink. When we're servicing customers across Eastern North Carolina, Outback in Goldsboro is one of our favorite reward stops.

I must say that Texas Roadhouse, was my go to steak place, but honestly The Outback has them beat hands down. I had the steak and shrimp, broccoli, and chili fries, everything cooked to my satisfaction, the only thing I would like to mention that it tasted like there was crushed red pepper on the steak and it was a bit overwhelming, but still delicious. The manager came out and had a great conversation with me. I love this place. All of the staff was very nice neat well dressed clean food is good and even the desserts. Our waitress was extremely nice but it took forever for our food to come out. Over an hour. Not her fault at all. She was a great server. Everyone around us were there for over an hour waiting for food. Yet they kept sitting people. When the food finally came, our pasta dish we ordered was completely cold. Won’t be back.

I do not normally do reviews on restaurants or anything whatsoever, But I feel completely compelled to write one today.
Years ago when we first moved to Goldsbdoro and lived for six weeks in the Quality Inn hotel off of I-70 as we searched for our new home, Our Outback was right next door. This was 2019 before Covid hit, and it was one of the least desirable experiences I’ve ever had at an Outback (which has always been my favorite chain restaurant).
We did not go back for three years. Moving ahead now to 2025, I just have to say what an incredible experience we had last night! Every single person from the time we walked in the door was an absolute delight and joy.
My husband and I have been going through some difficulties lately with health issues, and it is something we absolutely needed in our life at that moment.
I want to thank first off, Milo, who greeted us at the door and continued to be such an absolute sweetheart. Next came our very efficient and kind server, Brooke. Then Jessica came with our bread and water, And leaned down to whisper to me, “you are beautiful.” I thought what a sweet sweet thing to say to someone. Once again, like I said, I’ve been going through some things And it made my heart swell.
The food was absolutely delicious. I had the surf and turf. My husband had the ribs.
Sherry, the incredible bartender had the exact Australian red wine that I wished for.
And then lastly but not least Darling Anko cleared our table and chatted with us bringing yet another smile to my face.
What a wonderful evening! Thank you, Outback Steakhouse Goldsboro staff so much. We will be back!

Outback Steakhouse has really upped their game! We don’t dine out often, but had an early meal there this evening and both the service and food were excellent. Everything looked like it jumped right of the menu on to the plate. Three same cut and cook on sirloins all looked identical, I was impressed. The servers were super friendly and the owner stopped by to say hello and thank us for dining.
The food was good, but the service was outstanding! I hadn't been to an Outback in years, we had intended to go to another place for lunch, but changed our minds. We were all so happy that we did! I'll go to another Outback again soon!
