Picture this: I stroll in hungry enough to eat the vinyl off the seats. One whiff of that smoky, slow-cooked pork practically had me signing adoption papers to legally become part of the Smithfield’s family. The chicken? Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and apparently blessed by angels wearing BBQ aprons.

Let’s talk hush puppies. Those golden little flavor bombs should come with a warning label: “May cause spontaneous dance moves and unsolicited marriage proposals.” And don’t get me started on the sweet tea — so dangerously good it makes me want to start a support group.

Meanwhile, we often pops by Smithfield’s when we’re out zipping around Eastern North Carolina, saving homes from unwanted creepy-crawly invasions. It’s like a pit stop for the soul (and stomach). Nothing like conquering termites all morning and then rewarding yourself with a feast fit for a Carolina king.

Honestly, every visit is like attending a family reunion, minus the awkward political debates and plus an extra ladle of barbecue sauce. The staff always serves up big smiles, warm hospitality, and plates piled so high they practically need scaffolding.

You have always been our go to for fried chicken. All birthdays and other occasions. Since you changed the crust recipe it’s just like any other place. We love the crunch and crisp of it. we’ve been several times since the change hoping it would get better. The girl said corporate changed the batter recipe. Please get the old batter back. Guess we’ll try McCalls or Wilbur’s.

Ms. Jo is customer service at it's finest! She has a warm inviting personality. I can't say enough good things about her. They have a gem in ms Jo! The food is excellent, hot, fresh and yummy 😋. Don't take my word for it, go in and try it.

Great value on the plates. Two sides and hush puppies included. Loved that they have a sink so you can wash your hands without having to go into the restroom, very handy. The three young ladies working in the front were so sweet and helpful.

Normally this place is great the best place to eat in rosewood but today i ordered a chicken dark plate with both thighs they person on the drive through speaker marked it up wrong and the employees dont know what thighs look like because i got a dark plate with a leg and a wing so not even what i wanted the side i ordered is fries and baked beans both of which are cold and feel like they were just under a heat lamp for the entire morning also normally these are in the tray with the plate you order but today they are separate just wasting materials for some reason normally i recommend this place to go and get food but if this becomes the standard im going to start recommending the failing taco bell across the street because at least they dont get your order wrong and know how their register works

The chicken and BBQ were very good. The shrimp were okay, but the size were the smallest shrimp I have ever seen and the quantity was very small. The server was excellent and she made sure we had everything we needed.
