We had not even seen a Western Sizzing in years, but decided to stop as we were hungry and unfamiliar with the area. The food was surprisingly delicious, something I don't remember from previous years visits. It has always been family friendly It was also very busy. It must have been a local favorite as so many people seemed to know each other.

The stars I put says it all everything was a 10/10 I’ll def recommend anything to try the food I had hamburger steak rice and gravy, beef tips rice and gravy, and a strawberry shortcake cake. PS only thing I wished was the food come with a drink at least a cup of water

The buffet was really bad! They didn't offer a lot of options and what they did have was horrible. Instead of offering potatoes on the buffet, they charge an EXTRA .53 for a baked potato! When we complained, the table next to us chimed in saying they were unhappy too. Got a refund and ran!

Great as usual. Best steak under $30 in Goldsboro.

Food is mediocre but fairly economical. The “buffet” pretty much has the same thing all the time. Fried chicken is possibly the driest I’ve ever eaten. Vegetables are barely seasoned and bland. My wife enjoys her steak there and my daughter likes the chicken sandwich. If you’re looking cheap it’s your best option. If you’re looking for really good food find somewhere else. Service has always been great and on point.

I ordered a ribeye that looked like a thin sirloin, the onions were burnt to a crisp, and there were no mushrooms, the waitress was really nice and she did a really great job, next time I'll have to try the buffet

Came on the date above for dinner. Extremely busy and Western Sizzlin obviously does good business.
The salad bar and all its options looks to be the star here. There are variations of number of trips to it, as well as steaks, burgers, with options to combine. I did the filet with one trip to the salad bar. The filet is a good cut and seasoned well. I asked for medium, and it was a bit overcooked with no pink at all. Decent, however. The side baked potato I got was a good version.
The one trip to the salad bar was enough. The options on this include more than just the salad stuff with meat, veggie, sides, and dessert options. It's endless, it seems. This said, nothing I had on it wowed me, and I sampled quite a bit. It was ok. The salad bar itself is very crammed, particularly close to one wall. It was very difficult to maneuver it and escape it with all the folks and lake of space.
Service was ok considering the traffic.
I find the food ok, but nothing I would go out of my way for.
