While driving through Goldsboro from Asheville, we were told by multiple people that we HAD to stop by Wilber’s. The staff were AMAZING and the owner even stopped by our table to chat and wish us a safe drive. We were throughly impressed with our visit and experience! Side-note - the hush puppies were delish! 🤌🤩

Stopped in for lunch during a trip. Got some free hush puppies and gravy to munch on; pretty good. Ordered the bbq pork sandwich with collard greens. Food was delicious, service excellent.
Ordered a combination plate, they didn't include the barbecue. When I called they stated that they could not correct the order and that I would have to settle with Doordash; however, Doordash doesn't cook barbecue so I don't see the need of calling them. Evidently the girl that answered the phone thinks that Doordash prepares the meals. The chicken and Brunswick stew wasn't good at all, don't know about the barbecue. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The ticket from Doordash clearly states combo on the ticket.
Today we wanted to take some Wilbur’s Whole Hog Wood Smoked BBQ home for Sunday Dinner. We ordered a pound of BBQ and a pint of Slaw. This is the best BBQ I have found anywhere around . We frequent all the bbq restaurants within the area and Wilbur’s is the best. Just the right amount of wood smoke and tang. Not too moist and not too dry. The slaw is second to none . Even after a 20 minute ride home the BBQ was warm and delicious .
Frankly, this isn't your father's Wilber's. This NC staple needs work. It no longer has its decades old reputation and quality. It will have to earn it back.
My family did a takeaway order of chicken, BBQ, puppies, potato salad, and slaw. Attempted to call but no answer. Had to go in. Expect a line and from what I understand, potential shortages of cue. Anyway, the food...
Puppies: Good version for me. No butter needed.
Chicken: Best thing we had. Fall off bone moist. Enough sauce to give it flavor. Get this.
BBQ: Not as good as I remember. Admittedly for my taste, it never was my favorite. But it was excellent at one point. Somewhat disappointed in this version. Bland and dry. Fix this.
Summed up: Answer your phone. Fix your supply (I am sure this will settle down). Don't rely on your name and reputation. Do it like you did years ago. Work out the kinks. Good luck.

I love Wilber's. Great food-this is Eastern NC! A group of NC Magistrate have made this a traditional stopping point when we have a conference down east. The staff is always wonderful. A must stop on the way to and from our crystal coast beaches. You'll be glad you did.
