I had the fried pork chops, smothered and gravy with mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole
Pork chop was very Good
And my wife had the tomato bisque soup with grilled cheese again a very good choice
We finished with the German chocolate cake. It was out of sight.
Madeline was our waitress and she did a really good job

The food is usually pretty good. However, during my last 2 visits here, I never got any food. I understand that with country casual dining, you should probably lower your expectations of service, but my last two visits here we an absolute joke. A few weeks ago, I went in to place a to go order. Stood at the counter with about a dozen or so other folks. I patiently waited to place an order for 15-20 min or so, and nobody bothered to take my order or even really acknowledge me. Thought it was weird, but brushed it off and went somewhere else for dinner. Things happen, and I've worked in the F/B industry, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Went there again today to dine in and give them another chance. It was even worse than before. Got sat at my table, waited 15-20 min to place an order. Bad start. Then waited another 20 min.....for my server to come over to my table and say that the kitchen can't make my order and that I'd need to order something else. So I waited 40 min and would have had to wait again for my new order. Im just baffled and amazed that the operation could be so bad. Again, the food is usually good, but I have been absolutely offended with the poor service and general operations of the restaurant my last two times there. Gonna be a long while before they get another chance from me.

Good food, good wait staff and very friendly. Biscuits are fantastic. My fave is the Sawmill Benedict. Poached egg over Canadian bacon on a biscuit covered with gravy. So good and filling. Coffee is fantastic as well. Friendly staff make you feel like family. Lunch portions large and quite tasty. Service with a smile by all.
