Sushi Gem Asian Bistro

Can never get served here. The last time we came the bartender made a big deal we showed up 45 minutes before close. Today we gave it a second chance (earlier) and was just straight up ignored and not helped. Walked out and went somewhere else.

The Service is plain BAD. I’m leaving for the second time of walking in and not being served. The first time was about a month ago about 45 minutes before closing and the bartender said that we couldn’t get served because it was close to closing. This time we came an hour plus waited at the host stand for 10 minutes. I never got spoken to. I will take my business elsewhere. Hampstead is too small to be treating people this way if and when a sushi place comes to Hampstead to compete with this place it will be out of business shortly after.

A little expensive, but always good food

They changed the interior and really push the high tables in the bar, even when I want to dine in. The food is great! But it is odd that there has been a sign explaining their OWN gift cards can't be used. The sign has been up for months; they have their money. They could just deduct the proper amount from a bill.

The owner Alex is rude and condescending to his staff, which includes his poor, subservient wife.

This restaurant is delicious! Great value for your money with lots of food that tastes great. New go-to restaurant in the Hampstead area.

Food is always amazing! Harley was super awesome and she kept up with our table perfectly this evening! The owners are also Awesome! My wife and son went there earlier in the week and there was some confusion pertaining to their meal. He came over and took great care handling it personally going way above and beyond for them!

This is the only sushi place that I will eat sushi from the service is excellent the staff was on their game and the sushi was off for the chain

So a friend invited me to this place for lunch. We get seated. Order is taken. Teriyaki steak hibachi with brown rice for my friend. Hibachi (soy sauce) chicken for me with white rice.

When the food does come out our rices are backwards and I have teriyaki chicken. I'm not a fan of teriyaki chicken but I did not feel like waiting to send the food back and have it replaced so I ate about a quarter of it.

The mail is about over and the waitress comes back to the table and I ask for a drink and the check. I said to her just so you're aware this is not what I ordered. I wasn't looking to have it taken off my check or anything like that.

She proceeds to pull the check out of the book on her hip look at it and tell me that it says hibachi soy sauce chicken on the receipt.. I say to her I understand that but that's not what I received just wanted you to know.

She then again straightens out the receipt points at my order and tells me that's not what I got. I literally offer her to take a bite of the food or even look at it because you can plainly see that there's teriyaki all over the chicken.

This woman literally gets irritated with me and I told her to forget it to just bring me my drink and I would pay my check.

Will I go back? Maybe. I will definitely make sure she isn't working.

Oh I just wanted to mention that the entire time there someone had queued up '80s or '90s love songs on Pandora and it was really awkward.
