The Village Cafe

Unfortunately, as good as this place was, between the pandemic and inability to negotiate a new lease, Village Cafe closed a few months ago. It was a real loss to our community.

Great service, and the food is consistently terrific. The menu is imaginative and always well-thought-out. The brisket ... another reviewer said you should call ahead to find out if brisket is on the menu tonight ... and they're right. It really is that good. But honestly, Village Cafe is a perfect example of how eating "local" is the best thing out there. Go. You'll love it.

Ordered the chicken francaise and groceries for tonight. The food was awesome and prices are great. Delivered earlier than scheduled and everything was nice and warm ready to go. Definitely recommend

Omelet was not correct, I had to send it back. Food preparation seems to have dropped over the last few months. Staff is always friendly and courteous.

Very nice quaint, rustic like restaurant. Essentially "American" type food. Had a very good mushroom bleu cheese burger with fries

Lee Jackson Day gave me a much needed long weekend to be with bestie here in NC. After an afternoon of geocaching we were heading back to the OC and realized we were famished. We lucked out in downtown Wilmington because apparently you need to be there right when local grub spots open up or there is a long wait. Checking reviews on the way back we settled on VC. Their reviews were a mixed bag but we were getting desperate and decided to give it a shot.

Good food, great service many times I’ve had the shrimp tacos and they were delicious! I like the atmosphere and that you can get a light meal here

I drove almost 2 hours to visit this place and unfortunately no one ever offer to assist me at the time I was very interested in purchasing a slingshot

Visited on our trip to North Carolina. Lovely place with great atmosphere and food. Burgers, veggie wrap, po boy catfish, patty melt, and salads. Small bar and excellent service. Extensive lunch menu. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
