Good place. Great food. Better people. You’ll be surprised what you can find on a back road in Hertford. Definitely check it out
Great food and atmosphere
Too expensive..no bread no salad with steak. Ribeye good.
Motown and burger nite. Great time.
Tonight was the third time we have dined at 1775. This a a charming, upscale restaurant in a lovely old historic house. The decor inside is well matched to the period of the building. Each time we have eaten there has been different, but each dinner has been excellent. The first time we ate here was a Wedneday night -- Hamburger night at 1775. But not your everday, average hamburger -- these were gourmet burgers, with carmelized onions and other wonderful high-end toppings. The next time we came on a weekend, and on the menu was a wonderful grilled avacado -- drizzled with a a light sauce that contrasted nicely with the warm, creamy avacado, and a wonderful lamb bolognese made with succulent chunks of lamb shank in a hearty tomato-based sauce. Tonight, as an appetizer, we each had the grilled street corn, topped with micro-cilantro and dusted with cheese -- excellent! The main course we shared -- seared scallops served with a creamy gnocchi . For dessert with had the tiramisu mouse -- light, nicely flavored, and the perfect end to a perfect dinner!
Great food, treat service, will be back for sure!
A little bit off the beaten path but so very worth it! The food was amazing! You must to check it out. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to checking out Burger night!
I had one of the finest Grouper dishes ever in my life at this bistro. Truly amazing.
This was a jewel to find on the outskirts of Edenton. A blessed reprieve from the touristy dining in Edenton not to mention excellent food and a gracious, phenomenal chef owner and his wife's flawless wait-service. We can not recommend it enough.
We went there to celebrate my birthday. They had selections of wine and beer that were very good. The food was very good; all perfectly cooked. I had the lamb ragu which consisted of chunks of lamb shank, penne pasta, bolognese sauce and pecorino. I wasn't sure about the combination but it was absolutely delicious. They surprised me with a complimentary tiramisu dessert for my birthday. The service was also very good, and the owner, Glenn, came out to meet us. There was very nice music playing in the background. The prices were all reasonable.

A restaurant with class and history tucked away is historic Hertford, NC. Its located just a few minutes away from Newbold-White House, you’ll find fine dining with a classy menu and great prices. Relax and enjoy sitting in the handmade furniture by Ben Hobbs, renowned hand-craftsman.
Food was amazing! Wonderful place to dine with friends. Service was excellent.
After a fortuitous sighting of the sign while passing by, my husband called in a reservation for our anniversary. He didn't mention the significance of the day but somehow our server picked up on it. The service was amazing and the food was unprecedented for this area (coming to NC from DC, far surpassed many DC favorites). It was great to be able to enjoy their fine cuisine without having to dress all the way out. From the building itself and it's historically significant decor, to their locally appropriate takes on dishes, this venue screams "True American" through and through.
