Terrible place every time I’ve been here period, terrible owners, terrible employees, seems like a trust fund baby’s hole in the wall to burn to the ground but hey have fun wasting your time and money! (Over priced drinks and no food)

I approached the bar to order food but wasn't able to after being told I couldn't be in the bar without ID. I told the young female bartender and the larger bald security guard that I forgot my ID at my house but why does this prevent me from being in an establishment to support their musical artist (Ian Foutz) and purchase food? Why are my children (9 and 5 years old) allowed but I'm not because I'm almost 40 without ID but not ordering a drink? Why did the young female bartender tell me if she knew me she would serve me (even though i never ordered anything) without ID when she also told me the policy was unwavering and police are serious about people without ID in the establishment? This occurred on Saturday June 24th 9pm, 2023. Again I never ordered a drink at all, told the bartender I had money to spend for the establishment on behalf of me and my friends, was told I can't be there without ID, my children were allowed, I explained in Virginia I never experienced this nor in Carolina since I lived here. My family and friends could not believe the situation and we all left. It was the single most offensive experience at a professional business I've ever had. 5 people of my party were witness to this and two of them hertford locals who have opted out of supporting the establishment. I've been in NC for two years now conducting business with residents and commercial entities and have never been treated like this by anyone or any establishment. I just wanted to see my friend play music and eat some food with my family. I'm not sure if this is typical of the establishment or if I was singled out but I do not recommend this business as they have a zero tolerance policy for having a meal with your family without ID.

New to the establishment. Went to the bar to order a beer and was waited on rather swiftly by a bright smile. My bottle beer was nice and cold and also very pricey. Service was great... would have been nice if the option to order some sort of finger food (cheese sticks, fried pickles, f.f.) was available...the atmosphere was pleasant, There was a nice mixture of the locals. The band though was hard to listen to due to the fact the bass player was thumping so hard over the other musician's made it difficult to stay and enjoy it all. Not having a food menu leaves me to think that this is a place for the younger crowd to gather and hang out to wash away the work week who doesn't pay mind to the future with no thought of spending $4.50 for a Miller Lite beer. ? I'm glad I came out to check it out, however nothing about the short time I spent here would draw me back for another visit.

Wanted to try this place as they had no cover and live music, let's start with the 1 beer and 1 drink for $18, not sure how that broke down but the mixed drink was on the special board (about 10-12 oz) the beer came off the tap (sam adams). Next the band was way too loud for that small of an area. We drank up and left. Don't think we will return.

A small place where you can relax have a drink both alcoholic and non acholic kind. They have live bands karaoke and comedy shows with an occasional axe throwing competition. Corn hull in the back balcony. A cool place if you want to just get out with other adults.

Hertford Bay taphouse is a great place to go and listen to local musicians. On Friday nights they have karaoke/open mic night it is an awesome time. They have mini craft beers to choose from and wine cocktails the Chica Boom is my absolute favorite.

Really fun. Wouldve been nice if there was more variety in the alcohol and food, though. All in all a great time and plan to go back as many times as possible, lol.
