Thought this would be a delightful 'local eatery' in a quiet mountain town ....not?Fortunately! the kitchen is open, so I was able to observe employees using their cell phones and readjusting their pants to pull them up as they were cooking & expediting food.I felt I would be safe with a scrambled egg and hash browns. However the hash browns tasted Frozen and were cooked too crusty to cut through, even with a knife and the eggs were tasteless.I would think a place with the reputation of The Highlands could have a better offering than this for an all-day breakfast ?

We love the Blue Bike Cafe!! They made the best accommodations for our dog, and even have a little dog menu! They also gave him lots of love and attention. And the food was absolutely delicious! Everything that we ordered and got was so amazing. I can’t wait to go back!!

Best Breakfast in Highlands! Try the country fried steak and eggs.....WOW!
I was in Highlands for a photo-job and asked a local where was a good place to get lunch. Without hesitation, she said, "Blue Bike Cafe!"Well, there I went and I'm so glad I did! I'm always in search for the best "Philly cheesesteak" sandwich. I do believe I found it here!Highlands is one of my favorite places to visit because of the photo-opportunities. Be sure to visit the Blue Bike Cafe when in town.

We walked over from the inn for a late breakfast. The breakfast and lunch menu is served all day. I love the eclectic coffee mug collection. We started with biscuits which were some of the best we've ever had. My husband had the chorizo and cheese grits bowl and I had the tenders and toast. Everything was delicious! We would have returned the next morning again if they were open on Sundays.

Fresh, homemade blackberry jam on a warm, toasted English muffin at the Blue Bicycle Café.I feel sorry for those who can only see but not taste it.(Okay, not sorrry. You can Google how to get here.)And the service.., you’d only like it if you like being treated like royalty by amazing folks who also want you to enjoy quiet, peaceful hospitality.
