Great place, in door dining area pleasant, music- pretty cool.; steak under prepared, service a bit tardy. Just need to tighten the details up to be back in form.

A great place to go for casual dining. Varied menu. Only negative is that it closes early. Well priced wine list.

We liked it so much, we ate there twice! Josiah is the best waiter ever! Eclectic menu. Relaxed vibe.

This was our first time dining here and we were very impressed!! Our waiter Josiah was exceptional and very knowledgeable about the food he was serving. He was very attentive and just a very pleasant person to spend an hour and a half with. I started with the beef tenderloin carpaccio as an appetizer and it was fantastic. It was so tender it just literally melted in my mouth. It had a little bit of salad with it along with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese. And the drizzle of balsamic vinegar just added to all the flavor explosions going on in my mouth. My wife had the "Almost" Caesar salad which was exceptional as well. We both couldn't resist the "M" Paella for our entrees. It was out of this world!! Be sure to ask for some of their wonderful rustic bread to soak up the delicious broth that it has served in. Then to round out a wonderful evening I had the caramel apple cake with house made bourbon gelato and my wife had the salted chocolate tart. This place just hit it out of the park for us. If we ever come back way again we will definitely for sure stop by again ?

There is street parking. Walked in and reservations were recognized and then escorted to our table. We had to wait for our server to come, She told us that she did not know she had our table to serve. Drinks were ordered and served as well as our entrees. Food was good, service was average. If you charge your meal, check your monthly statement with your receipt. I was overcharged . I will not return to this restaurant.

We made our reservations by email about 3 weeks prior to our August dining. Since the restaurant only makes reservations through email, I received a confirmation of our dining plans about 2 days later. We arrived for our reserved time of 7:30 at around 7:15, only to hear that our reservation had been given away. She said they called to confirm the dining plans, and whoever called said they did not have plans to dine there that night. I received no call, and upon looking at her reservation sheet they had called the wrong number. I know that my correct number is on my emails, so clearly the restaurant made a mistake. She said to give them about 15 minutes to see if they could fit our party of 6 somewhere. We said we would wait, but then she got angry at us and asked if we could wait outside. We started walking out to the sidewalk, and she kept indicating it was somehow my fault that the reservation was cancelled. By the time we got outside, she asked us to leave and fine other dining arrangements. This would never have been an issue if they accepted Open Table or Resy for their reservations. We will not be returning to this restaurant, extremely rude staff!

We had a wonderful evening for our party of six at Meritage, made that much better by the wonderful and witty service and attention of our waiter Josiah. The food was also excellent including the salads, entrees and deserts. I am still thinking about the short ribs which were excellent; my wife had the trout which was also excellent. We shared four deserts all of which were wonderful but my favorites were the chocolate flourless cake and the lemon cake. When the bill arrived I felt that I had been under charged. Great experience; and a wonderful evening. Don't miss this one!!!!!

For quality food, a superb selection of international wines and value for money, we think Meritage is the best restaurant in Highlands . . . and so do a lot of other locals. It's run by an experienced pro, Andrea Schmitt, who knows how to schedule reservations, hire great staff and oversee the preparation and presentation of her talented chef's marvelous and ever-changing menu.Covered outdoor dining is available (which is dog friendly), there is a small dining room with about 8 tables and a large bar area near the entry. The decor is unstated and elegant and the service staff is knowlegeable, friendly and professional. Reservations highly recommended.

This restaurant is at a completely different level. It is on the pricey side, but please take the chance and you will see the food is absolutely amazing.

Tremendous, food first class, service and attention from waiter, excellent. Only suggestion, get someone to care for the outside yard. When we drove up it looked abandoned.
