We’ve been visiting Highlands North Carolina for over 30 years, but have never eaten at this restaurant. It was absolutely fabulous. From the time we made the reservations to the time we left we felt so important. And our server Heather was so professional. She made great suggestions and I would love to come back and be served by her again. We will be back. You won’t be disappointed

Our dinner was wonderful! We were warmly greeted and immediately sat at our table. Sandra and the staff took great care of us throughout our delicious meal. We loved the tiramisu! They made us feel special on our anniversary!

Italian food done well. Extensive menu that they can and willing modify to accommodate food allergies and specific taste. The place can get really crowded so atmosphere is slightly degraded. You have to make reservations. It's a bit pricey but not overly.

Amazing service. The 3rd generation family owner took our order! ♥️

I was feeling the itch for some really good Italian food. The kind you would find in Italy or My grandmother's house. So I drove up the gorge to the Highlands, and parked myself at the bar in Paoliettis. I started out with a perfectly made Jack Daniels Manhattan straight up. After that I moved on to an appetizer of carpaccio In a bed of arugula and capers. The slices of ruby red filet mignon look like they had been cut by a surgeon. Every slice perfectly overlapping the other. Now I was ready for some homemade pasta. I couldn't choose between the ravioli or the short rigatoni bolognese. So I got both. I couldn't get over how Delicious the bolognese sauce was. So I called over this Good looking redhead that was at the counter, to compliment the sauce. That's when she introduced herself to me as Mama G, the owner. She told me it was an old family recipe and I'm sure it was because I never tasted anything So good.
As much as I wanted to try the osso bucco, there was simply no more room in my belly. Although there was a small amount of space for their homemade tiramisu. And like everything else I had tried there, it was on point. Fresh, creamy, and a generous portion. All in all, if you're looking for a fine traditional Italian cuisine, and you don't feel like flying 9 hours to Italy, you need to try this place. You need a reservation, or You can eat at bar. It has about 10 chairs.
All in all, I will definitely make this place my first stop every time I visit the Highlands. Buno appitito

Outstanding. We ordered the gnocci, short ribs (so good), and the bolognese.

We have been coming to Ristorante Paoletti for over 30 years. It remains one of our favorite restaurants in the world. Our visit on June 26 was top notch. The service and food are outstanding!

What a high expectation and what a deep fall. First time and we will not go back. Everyone in the restaurant had one goal, to flip the table as fast as possible. The food was just ok, nothing special, service was not good, and we felt rushed from the moment we sat down. What a disappointment.

My wife and I visited Ristorante Paoletti the week of 6/16 while visiting Highlands, NC. The atmosphere, service, and food were excellent. I started with the grilled Spanish Octopus for my appetizer, and I'll say without hesitation that it was truly the best grilled octopus I've ever tasted. I strongly recommend trying it. You may question having grilled octopus in the mountains of NC but venture out and give it a try. You will not be disappointed. For my main entree, I chose the grilled Elk Chop. It too was phenomenal. Served with a red wine reduction infused with raspberry puree that takes between 12-14 hours to make, the Elk Chop was truly special.
