I have visited the Stubborn Bull on a special occasion. I have also stopped in impromptu on a week day. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, greeting you, helping you with choices from the manu ( as there are many) and making sure all your needs are met! I have never felt rushed or overlooked!
Food is diverse, exciting, delicious, ever changing!
Atmosphere is contemporary, fun, hip, elegant!
I can always feel the pulse of a fun night at the bar!

Terrible service and mediocre food

We visited stubborn bull after hearing great things, and we were excited to experience their fine dining atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the way we were treated. As “ Younger diners”
we felt dismissed and not taken seriously by our server which left us uncomfortable throughout the evening. Service was slow and inattentive, after we got done eating our appetizers we waited 20 minutes for our server to take our entrees, meanwhile we could see he was very attentive to other tables. When my sister ordered a white sangria we watched it sit at the bar for 10 minutes and by the time it was brought to us it was watered down quite a bit. Most of the food we received was overcooked, after waiting so long for our entrees we were not going to ask them to send it back. Overall we paid around 300 dollars to have mediocre food and terrible service.

One of our favorite restaurants in Highlands! The food is excellent and service is always spot on. We have a two year old and they are always super accommodating with children. Be sure to check out their sister restaurant The Stubborn Buddha!

We eat here at least once a week while in town. It is the very best food and service. I love everything on the menu. The owner Kiki does a fantastic job, the menu is consistently delish, and Manny the bartender whips up some wicked drinks especially his expresso martini. We also take a one year old and 3 year old that loves the chimichurri steak, salmon and all the appetizers. They have outdoor seating which is great for kids. We love it and it’s not a complete trip to Highlands without a meal or 2 there.

I love going to The Stubborn Bull in Highlands because it truly feels like family—the servers, the owner, and even the chef know my name now. That sense of connection makes every visit special.

Kudos to Kristina and Clarissa for finally bringing some much-needed innovation to the Highlands food scene. In a town where most menus seem stuck on steak, salmon, chicken, or trout, they’re serving creative, delicious dishes that stand out.

What I appreciate most is that, unlike many restaurants in the area that focus on weekend visitors, often with inflated final checks that “by mistake” lean in favor of the restaurant, Kristina and Clarissa genuinely care about locals. They’ve built a place that offers exciting food year-round, with heart and vision.

We had a great meal, as always! Three of us shared the paella ( for two) and the churrasco and it was perfect! Excellent service and cool setting next to the creek. Highly recommend! 😁

From the intimate interior, to the communal bar, to the casual patio on the mountain brook’s edge. Everything you could want in one location. I’ve discovered my favorite meal there is the one I'm going to order next. Service and staff attention to detail is beyond measure. Highly recommend!!!!!

You will not find a more unique and carefully crafted experience. From the location, decor, staff, menu and ingredients. Menu changes seasonally and there is something for everyone. Top notch service, craft cocktails and amazing desserts. Don’t be stubborn and grab the bull by the horns!!! Make a reservation asap!!
