A cool little place but was EXTREMELY disappointed in the food. I ordered the lamb pita and found plastic in my dish not once but TWICE! After the first time I sent it back, they made me a new plate and I found plastic in it again (like a piece of a plastic fork) and after that I wasn’t even hungry and didn’t want to eat anything from here. Manager was extremely unapologetic and only took the pita off the bill. In my opinion if you put PLASTIC in my dish (MORE THAN ONCE!) the whole bill should’ve been taken care of. I highly encourage the owner to step in and figure out what the heck happened because that is unacceptable! Imagine if I would have choked or cracked a tooth, or if I was a little kid!! Be CAUTIOUS eating here!

If looking for a cozy pub, Ugly Dog is the place to be. Came on a Wednesday, which meant we hit Bluegrass Night, which only added to happening vibe. Sat at the bar, chatted with locals, and out-of-towners. Service from Kelly, our bartender, was excellent. Personable and attentive.

I get why this place gets packed sometimes. I had the Guacamole burger when I last visited a couple of months ago and it's been on my mind ever since. As soon as I can afford to start traveling again, I'll be back!

We are here in highlands due to the damages in Asheville nc from hurricane Helene. This place is simply AMAZING! I can’t remember our waiters name but he was the best. The food is so good and major brownie points our food arrived super fast. Our server even brought my dog a treat. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I was just in highlands, NC during hurricane Helene and this lovely place provided literally shelter from the storm. Had generator power and the entire town gathered there for great food and community. Always smiling faces and generous attitudes. I Do plan on visiting again and will definitely go back to one of my new favorite places.

We picked this restaurant because a review said it's very dog friendly. The outside seating was closed but there was one table next to the front door. My husband's burger was good and he's particular so that says a lot. My Reuben was ok. They have a dog bowl but no water.

Our favorite restaurant to visit when in the area! All the food is delicious!!! Great tavern atmosphere. TVs on for all the games which we love. We prefer this location over the cashiers location. Only thing that’s a downside is it’s a small restaurant so it can get a bit tight and crowded in there.

We had a great experience here. The most kid friendly place we’ve found in town to date. As soon as we walked in the hostess helped get us a high chair set up and immediately brought us waters including a kid’s cup without asking. My pimiento cheese bacon burger was delicious and the apple spiced old fashioned hit the spot. A must try during your visit!
