Looking online, this place has (had) great reviews and it looks like it's still in operation. Sadly, not so. I was taking a friend out on a field trip for her birthday lunch and we thought this sounded good. Even talked to someone that morning who said she used to go here often with her parents. Sadly, our first clue that is was closed was the empty parking lot. Our clue that it has been closed for quite some time was the abundance of weed in the parking lot and front walkway (maybe closed a year, according to someone at the restaurant we ended up eating at). There are no signs anywhere that we could see, but a peek in the front door indicates it's quite defunct. We were really looking forward to that fried chicken.

I'm sorry to say that Bruce and Mickey's is officially closed. Kaput. Finis. This site wants me to add more, but what can I say? The chicken was great and so was the staff. But they are closed. Shuttered. Bruce has retired.

place is dirty, but it seems like times are tough. food is good. i’ve gotten shrimp from here before, and just got some more. i’d give it 5 stars, but it looks like theres serious damage in the walls, the ceiling, and the fryers are old. the food is clean and safe and pretty good tho- so order takeout if you care about atmosphere, but otherwise the staff is nice. this place deserves more customers! i’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for how bad the damage was in the back, but the seating area is perfectly fine and clean

I've been patronizing Bruce and Mickeys for over 20 years. When we dine in, we usually have the same waitress. She's been there as long as we've been going. Bruce is a stand up guy and often tries to help out our church with a deal for big dinners, banquets and when we take food to families who are dealing with a death. I can't tell you how many times I've walked through the serving line and got to the register to have the young lady say, "Bruce said it's on him this time." Over and over again. He's a generous guy and has become a friend to me and our church through the years. The food is fantastic. I treat my staff to lunch there once in a while after staff meetings and they love it too. Nice find. A local BBQ,fried chicken, and seafood place. Upon entering get in line to slide down a cafeteria style line and order your food. Very fast with reasonable prices. Servers abided by thecovid serving rules. Pay at the register and the go-to a table. A server will refill your drinks.

Bruce and his folks are great to deal with. I love his fried chicken; it's some of the best you'll ever try. From a quick lunch to catering for my employees and family parties, I've never been disappointed. It's great southern food!

Very nice staff. Tasty fried chicken, shrimp and deviled crab. The potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw and baked beans were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable too. We'll definitely be back.

The hushpuppies weren't that great, the green beans, French fries, and barbeque were fair. . However, a few bites into the shrimp I tasted something gritty. Come to find out NONE of the shrimp were deveined. I IMMEDIATELY lost all taste for eating the rest of my meal. Wasted money. I used to eat here all time. Haven't been in awhile and don't think I'll be back any time soon. People can get SERIOUSLY sick from something like that.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I am relatively new to this area and one day I was driving to the Chinese Food spot that I like. I’ve driven by this place a few times in my way to work and they seem closed. Well, today I saw a line of cars and decided to whip a u-turn to finally check it out. I just made it too ‘cause they close at 8:00 and I was in line at 7:59 pm. I ordered the flounder dinner with cabbage and fries. As I checked out the cashier mentioned he gave me a sample of the fried chicken. I got home and first bit into the chicken! For a place about to close and free; the chicken was fresh, crispy and delicious! My flounder meal was just as good! I will definitely be back to this place. I was really pleased!!!
