The food is pricey and and just ok for the high price. We got the tenderloin filet, which was really good, and the seafood gumbo, which was pretty bland and soggy. The place is packed and super noisy, so it's hard to hear if you're there catching up with friends. You're also elbow to elbow with other tables. The service was great though!

Every time I say the Guilford County restuarant scene is all chains I forget about this awesome little establishment tucked away in downtown Jamestown. It hits all the high notes, great food, relaxed atmosphere and superior service. Kaylee is just fantastic. The bread pudding is to die for.

The food is not as good at other locations. The oysters were were small and notr well seasoned, and the person sitting next to me was complaining about the same thing. So it wasn't just me. The fried shrimp were a bit small and also unseasoned. I did enjoy the five dollar drink special. Primary seating is around the bar.

Dinner at Southern Roots was excellent. The food and service were both great, with good portion sizes and reasonable prices. The atmosphere was relaxed with dim lighting, and there is a bar with beer taps, wine, and mixed drinks. I was seated right away, but later there was a wait for tables, so it is clearly a popular spot. The service was well paced and unhurried. There is a parking lot, but it is small and fills up quickly. I would definitely return.

Had a good time at Southern Roots. It's a beautiful space with plenty of natural light which was great and well needed for our lunch.
We ordered the chicken quesadilla and a grilled chicken panini and both were pretty good. They had a ton of flavor and were really fresh. My friend had the caesar salad and she absolutely loved it.
The service was also great. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our lunch.
Overall I had a good experience. I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.

I don't know how this place flew under my radar. The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. What I can't fathom is how they were able to pull off the perfectly cooked fresh ingredients for such a reasonable price point. I will definitely be back, maybe even later this week.

If and when you get to High Point, North Carolina visit Southern roots restaurant. Simply put the most delicious flavorful and unique southern cooking found in North Carolina. I had a mixed plate with some of the best collards I’ve ever had eggplant. French fries were amazing. Don’t miss this little Jewell.
