Nice country store with a grill, we stop by going an coming back too
Loved it! Perfect cozy mountain shop with delicious food at the grill. Very impressed and glad this is along our route to the mountains. Randall was very kind and food delicious.
We stopped by on our way home to GA because we had to detour due to road closure. We were tired, hungry and give out. The owner and staff were extremely helpful, polite and gave us great instructions on getting around the road closure. Grill was closed unfortunately so we couldn't get food but everything else we bought was great. They really made us feel welcome and brightened our day which was a long, tough one. Would highly recommend stopping by and if we are in the area again, we will make it a point to stop there. Its a great little store with a bit of everything. A side note also, it was one of the cleanest bathrooms I've used on the road!

Stopped by on our way to drop off donations lovely stop great people
Great little stop. Enjoyed the customer service and food.
Friendly people, good food, nice store.
Glad it reopened but check the exp date on the snacks. I got some trail mix and it tasted off so I looked at the date which had been covered up and it had been expired for over a year. But still stop in, glad there still a place to stop when visiting Linville Gorge!!
CYCLISTS BEWARE!!! As a regular visitor to the area, I was looking forward to the reopening of this mercantile. While it’s got all the necessary provisions and a nice cafe menu, the staff were beyond unfriendly, bordering on hostile. As we were checking out, we were told by some guy (I assume staff) we had to move our bikes because “customers need to be able to sit at the tables” on the porch. Uhhh, we were the customers planning to sit at those tables. After spending a few minutes enjoying our food, guy came up again. “Didn’t you hear me? I told you move your bikes.” I was beyond blown away. Honestly thought he was going to call the cops or just grab and toss us off the porch. Thank god another guy (maybe another staff person) followed angry guy. “I”m sorry. We just don’t want to make a habit of people leaving bikes on the porch. But there’s a bike rack on the other side of the lot if you’d like to move them there.” Props to helpful guy. Anyway, for cyclists rolling through Wilsons I’d say hit Coffey’s or Betsy’s where everyone’s always welcome before climbing Pineola to 181. And a suggestion for the owners: If you prefer bikes, (or strollers, wheelchairs, etc. or similar size objects to a bike) not be set on your porch, why not add to your many written signs about ice, firewood, etc. the following: “Please, no bikes [fill in unwanted item] on the porch. A rack is to the left of the building.” Or maybe just fire your unhelpful, rude staff.
Big thank you!!!! I took a drive up old 105 and picked up some trash that was left behind, they let me put two bags of trash in their dumpster.
Much appreciated , “Venture Unknown”
