Horrible dirty food

My favorite winery to visit when I’m here in NC

Have been going there for 20 plus years. Food is not what it used to be. Had a 12oz. Rib eye steak had tasted terrible. Cook in the oven instead of grilled. No fat marble in it and tough to eat. Was extremely thick just no seasoning or marinated to make it tender. Appetizer seafood mushrooms came of food truck like most restaurants and were not good either. No croutons for salads. Foodlion is right down the road. After over twenty years I'll miss it.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday at the Country Squire. The setting is very charming with apples and vintage decor. The staff was friendly and very attentive to detail. The food was excellent. I had the Prime Angus Ribeye with a house salad and garlic mashed potatoes. I also had a glass of wine. Granddaddy's Smokehouse White. It was a great combination of fruity and sweet. It was also made onsite. Thank you to the staff it was a wonderful experience.

The coolest unique atmosphere feels like you are stepping into another country. Friendly staff and delicious perfectly seasoned food. Today was the first time going for Sunday lunch and the lunch special was outstanding. Stuffed chicken w/cream sauce, brown rice, & stir fry vegetables. Definitely recommend & can't wait to go back to try more things.

Tried this place for Valentine’s Day. Had a 7:30 reservation but seated after 8. Waitress didn’t come to table except to take order, deliver the food and then came over after we had been waiting forever to get butter for our then cold baked potatoes. Never did get our salad. After she came over the final time we just asked for check. Pointed out that we never got butter or salads. Another lady came over and offered to take $10 off of our $98 bill. The issues were then pointed out to the ladies at the front, their reasoning was that it was a busy night of serving 500 people. And she also said that maybe we shouldn’t have tried it out for the first time on Valentine’s Day. Was absolutely the worst experience ever, the appetizer wasn’t good, my steak was well done when it was supposed to be medium, no toppings for the then cold baked potatoes and never received the salads. Musty, stale smell inside the building as well. Definitely won’t be back.

We drove a hour to try this restaurant. Once we were finally seated, after our reservation time, we had to wait for a waitress. Once she finally took our order, we got our appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops. It tasted like just eating bacon. We finally got part of our meals. My 4 oz filet was supposed to be medium but it was overcooked to pretty much well done. Never got butter for our baked potatoes nor did we ever get our salads. When we finally got our waitress to come over, we pointed out the fact that we never got salads or the butter. A different lady came over and offered us $10 off….what the heck was that??? The bill was $98 and some change…$10 off!!?? We told her no, just bring the bill but we will not be back. We left but then my boyfriend went back inside to let the manager know. Their reasoning was that they were busy serving 500 people that night and also told him that maybe we shouldn’t have come for our first time on Valentine’s Day….what kind of thing is that to say??? But will most definitely NOT be back!! We will stick to Heath’s restaurant in Dunn where the service is spot on and steaks are cooked to perfection!!!!

Love dining at the Squire and the wait staff is wonderful!

This is a hidden gem!!! So quaint and beautiful and old-school you feel like you’re somewhere in another country!! We have loved our stay here so much! The views are beautiful. The people are friendly. The rooms are well appointed and it’s just absolutely amazing.

as we absolutely love it, the food, the people the atmosphere everything just goes together it’s just awesome. It certainly one of those things that if you’re never done or you’ve never been there, you have to go cause you have experience for yourself.

Went on Saturday afternoon for a wine tasting. The building is very unique. The bartender that did the tasting was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. That's the reason for the 4 star review. They have a large variety of different styles of wine. The wines we tried were good but we had better at other wineries in the area.

We love The Country Squire! We’ve attended weddings there, have been to events held there and we love the food. If you’ve never been, it’s the best atmosphere with friendly staff!
