I came fore night cap and a side of fries to go to accompany dinner I made at my hotel. I gave my review 4 stars instead of 5 for one particular staff member. The woman doing security with long brown curly hair. She was just rude and off putting and I instantly almost turned around to go down the street from here vibes alone, but, the other security seemed nice and I didn’t want to judge. When I was leaving she was just as uncomfortable and rude. If this were busy with a bunch of 20 something’s I would understand but the youngest person in the bar was me at 35 I mean—it was just weird. I run a taproom brewery. I rarely even do reviews. Just thought that your first and last impressions are important so I wanted to put this out there. Bartenders—both guys tonight—amazing very friendly and attentive the second I walked in and throughout my 30-40 minutes there. Ordered fries to go and they were on point and quickly ready. I spoke to a regular that worked at another bar—he was also pleasant and so was the rest of the patrons. The crowd was that down home dive bar vibe on a Sunday. Exactly what I needed to finish my trip here at OBX. All in all—good food and liquor prices for the OBX. When I come back for my two week stay in August I’ll come back here multiple times for sure. Also, side note I was walking my dog around the parking lot and running back and forth to the gas station. While doing so there were multiple servers outside that I stopped to ask questions about the establishment. I didn’t get names but they were all so friendly and sweet as well! I try to not bother people on breaks and was very glad they were so friendly and approachable!

It's in the tourist book and has coupon for it. The best meal we had during the week. What a nice surprise.

"We had the pleasure of dining at Jolly Rodgers during April's 2024 bike week in the Outer Banks, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The service was excellent, with short wait times and a very friendly staff that made us feel welcome. The food was the real highlight, though. Everything tasted homemade and was generously portioned, especially for breakfast and dinner. We were impressed by the quality and quantity of food offered, and the prices were very reasonable for what you get. This restaurant came highly recommended to us, and we can see why. I would definitely recommend Jolly Rodgers to anyone looking for delicious meals, friendly service, and a great value for their money."

This little gem local bar is a do nor miss in the Kitty Hawk area etc.. We were in town for a few days from Pennsylvania. I happened to browse through one of the local magazines for Outer Banks and saw their add for Sunday Soul Fried Chicken!!!!Without a doubt we ALL AGREED that this was the Best fried chicken dinner on the planet!!!! That honey glaze old bay on it was on another level. ALL of the waiters/waitresses bar staff were super friendly and accommodating. We all agreed we would be there every week if we c could. Their menu is diversified and the locals rave about their. This is a must do stop when you're in town!!

Went early but already packed, waited almost 25 mins for table of 2. Food was decent but not anything special and overpriced for what we got, good thing we had a coupon. Onulion rings and hush puppies were great! We didn't leave hungry but combo platters were $30 each. Service was fine once we got in and it was packed...overheard there was at least 7 tables waiting. This was at 5:30pm on a Friday. Live music was good and parking in rear available.

We can’t say enough good things about The Jolly Roger! We’ve only been coming to the OBX for about 4 years, but are sure to make this place our first stop every time. This year, we chose to eat there 3 times. Manager Andrea and waitress Jess are phenomenal! The entire staff is, actually. They are fun, the vibe is right, the drinks are strong, the food is top notch and the atmosphere can’t be beat. Families with kids, do not let what may seem to others to be more of a bar vibe, deter you. Manager Andrea made a point to joke with my kids and make them feel special. Definitely family friendly! We can’t wait for next year!

Really good food, both dinner and lunch. I'm excited to go back for breakfast soon. Our waitress was Sherri and she was absolutely wonderful! Cracking jokes and lifting the mood of the entire room.

We went for dinner with a party of 11- 4/24/24. They got our table ready in minutes, very short wait. I was a little worried because the outside- looked a little sketchy. Once inside a hole different aspect. It was almost like sitting at a table on a ship. The items around the place were so interesting and awesome to look at. The lights and the pain glass windows with detail. As we ordered the waitress was on top of things. She was deftly the best to keep things going for us, was not at the table a 100 times. She kept the food/drinks coming on point. Thank you for grate experience and fantastic food. Best sea food I've ever had.

My husband and I come to the Outer Banks about twice a year and make sure to visit the Jolly Roger each time. The food and service does not disappoint. I am not a seafood person so I am glad that they have plenty of non sea food options. During this trip we ate there a few times and would highly recommend the Fettuccine Alfredo (with chicken for the land lovers). The noodles were fresh and the tasty sauce was on point. I tried two specialty drinks from the bar menu although tasty they are a bit strong (Not a complaint - just an observation). We are looking forward to our next visit to see the new bar renovation. So, check out the Jolly Roger. :0)

Pirate themed Italian restaurant a block from the beach. Yes this is old school tourist stuff including the over stuffed souvenir shop. But the Italian food is legit. Classics delivered perfectly. I would not be surprised to find a couple Nonas back there in the kitchen because my veal parmigiana was some of the best I’ve had. Even the little stuff is done well. Spaghetti that came with the veal was al dente, drained so you don’t have a puddle on your plate and the meat sauce was on point. Service was great. Friendly attentive helpful. Good (strong) drinks. And if you have the time after dinner or just want to skip dinner there’s a great little bar on the back of the restaurant. It’s a locals bar but my wife and I felt like locals. The bartenders were great the customers were friendly and chatty and I finished the night with my best rendition of Crackle’n Rosie for karaoke. You’re lucky you weren’t there for that.:)
