**Absolutely incredible experience at Mama Kwan’s in OBX!**

If you’re anywhere near the Outer Banks, this spot is a *must-visit*. The atmosphere is laid-back and fun, the service is friendly and quick, and the food… wow. The **fish tacos** were out of this world — perfectly seasoned, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Easily the best I’ve ever had! Everything from the first bite to the last was amazing.

We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Mama Kwan’s totally lives up to the hype! 🌮🔥👏

We've heard rave reviews of this place, but there was always a wait. Finally visited twice earlier this month, and we understand the raves (and why there's usually a wait). Great food, creative menu choices.

First time eating here. My hubby had Mahi Mahi and enjoyed it. I had a salad. Drinks were good. Ambiance was bar-like, a bit loud but we could still hold a conversation. A very enjoyable experience.

If you want a fun atmosphere, this is an interesting vibe.

If you want quality food, go elsewhere. Most or maybe all of the ingredients were generic, low grade and plopped onto a plate. The fish tacos were meh at best, not close to “world renowned.”

The kids meals were a slight step about cafeteria grade at a Five Guys price tag.

As someone that cares way more about taste and quality, we’ll skip eating here next time.

We enjoyed our lunch at Mama Kwans. The food was excellent, as was the service. Atmosphere is very casual. We enjoyed the outside seating area. Prices were extremely reasonable and portions generous.

Fast friendly attentive service. Portions much larger than expected. Great atmosphere and music. The waitress could not have possibly been better. She gave great service and had a positive attitude. Great local flavor!! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Custom drinks available. Souvenir cups and tee shirts available. We had the jerk chicken soft tacos which were cooked to perfection. The fish taco salad mahi mahi was divine. Fish was fresh and the fish taco salad was the non blackened version.

Update: 4 months later... We returned and had another awesome experience, so this was not just a one-off. Same server - Ashley. She was awesome. Must have been by my table at least 10 times for refills, clearing used plates, etc. I had the Monster 1/2 lb burger with Swiss, mushroom, and onion. It was perfect, and the onion rings were to die for. My wife had the oriental chicken salad and it was so big she had to take more than half of it home. This is going on our list of regular visits every time we come down to the Banks now.

The only reason for the 3 on atmosphere is the hostess also was bussing the tables and she continued to walk back and forth making you feel a little rushed.

The Special Occasion Pasta is hands-down our favorite. Penne tossed with roasted red peppers, snap peas, scallions, and mushrooms in that creamy soy reduction, absolute heaven. We tried one with shrimp and one with tuna, and both were flawless. The consistency is always spot-on, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Mama Kwan’s is the kind of place you look forward to every single time.

Good food

Food and drinks are always great. Their wings are on our must have list every time we go, get the honey jerk. Staff and customers are always friendly. There will probably be a wait but it never takes too long.
