Authentic place, great beer, good food, and friendly staff. Stopped here for a short lunch and a decent beer.

Vegan options were so tasty. Also I love their French fries. I know I shouldn't judge a place just on their fries but they're seriously so good. Good beer options and local sodas. The atmosphere is also nice and not cramped.Vegetarian options: Their vegan or vegetarian options are great.

My search was for a dog friendly place. This was listed as very dog friendly. Not if its cold out, you're stuck outside and have to order take out. Person behind the bar could use a muzzle. The water she barked at is that it was outside only. Not helpful after 8 hrs of travel.

We had the shrimp and grits, and the fish and chips. Both were great. Service was pretty bad when we were there mid afternoon. We sat at the bar. The first waiter helped us get our food and drink order in, but then he never came back. Other staff eventually followed up.We recommend you try the food here but maybe not sit at the bar in the afternoon.

My wife and I sat at the end of the bar and watched all three cooks for a half hour. No gloves in sight, every piece of food was fondled bare handed. Then their greasy mitts were shoved into their pockets to pull out their phones in between orders. Paid the tab and left to go find food that wasn't diddled by kitchen staff in need of hygiene. There is no barrier between the cooks and patrons. Literally no reason to NOT be doing the right thing when everyone's watching you.

Visited in October 2014. Decent beers, reliable service, and the food is passable, albeit pricey. The Outer Banks may not be bustling with beer-related offerings, so this venue could be considered a go-to destination. Our visit during the off-season was notably quiet. It deserves recognition for being one of the oldest wind-powered brewpubs in North America.

Good beer, drinks and food. Think brew pub with upscale food. Outdoor event center with bands. Always good service and good food. Haven't been during the "season". I'm sure it's crazy. Come early, have a beer or three, relax, and enjoy!

Came in to my go-to for a birthday dinner and was pretty disappointed. No cask conditioned ale, a very limited dinner menu and no surf-n-turf, and the ahi tuna was ice cold. They also charge a premium to use plastic. What happened to this place? It's like the new owners aren't even trying...I'll start looking elsewhere...

Bar folks are great! Food is always amazing and innovative. Dog friendly outside and a fantastic spot! Best shark, scallops, and lemongrass brew ever!

We have been going to this place for several years. One of the things I appreciate the most is the consistency of the food quality and service we receive each and every time we go. While the menu changes they stay consistent in the menu items and types of items they serve. The prices are in line with any other brewery you have visited but the service is always impressive. Try the jalapeno cheese curd and the double IPA.

Had great service, especially since we were the only ones seated outside. Outdoor space is huge and really nice; I'm sure it's a lot of fun during the warmer months for families. They are dog friendly outside. Food is really good, and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the beers as well, they were really good and they had a nice selection!

First zero tip, like ever. Sad but true. As old restaurant warhorses, and lifelong super generous tippers, we left nada tip after spending some quality time at Le Bar last night. We won't make the mistake of sitting at the bar again. Rather, when we do come back, for the really great food that the clearly hard hitting stars on the kitchen staff take pride in producing, we will request Tiffany, who delivers a welcoming, skilled, and gracious level of service I don't much see outside of bigger cities, or any of the other warm and gracious servers who work on the floor. All and every one of the dining room staff have never disappointed. Based on the last two times I've sat at the bar for dinner, Bar staff is the weak link in this house. Not very engaging. Lukewarm attention at best. We've eaten here a dozen times or more in the last year, usually for dinner on the way back to Hatteras after a day up in Virginia. Usually in the spring, fall or winter when it's less busy. First thing-Wet bar, an orange size pool of water I didn't see. Had time to sit, in wet spot, move seats, over one to dry spot, resettle, and wait till he was able to disengage from his conversation, turn toward, make eye contact with, or in any way acknowledge. When he does eventually register that he now has 8, not just 6 at the woefully empty bar, in January, in kdh, he plunks the menus down like bricks and asks what we're drinking. Husband wants a beer, can't remember which of tbe darker ones it is, he offers a rapid fire delivery of beer knowledge, then stands waiting, just waiting. Making it awkward. Husband asks. can he taste the two? I get the impression this guy doesn't want to wash any extra glasses or something. When he turns to me, he's very apparently not pleased when I say sorry, l don't drink, please, just a water. Husband wants a water, too. That doesn't improve this guys mood. Are we eating, he coolly inquires? Yes. We cheerfully tell him we are here for the good grub, trying to lighten the mood or something. He tells us the menus are on the bar. Thanks man. He then starts awkwardly, loudly going on about, grub, grub, grub, grub, grub, in almost a sing song, not in any kind of warm ish way. Whatever, dude. We look for the specials menu. They've usually got some banging dinner specials, their fish with a lemon caper butter stands out in recent memory. Captain Cool comes back to inform us there's no ravioli, and something else. I overhear him tell another patron that they're closing for three weeks in three days time. Explains why there's only regular menu items on the specials menu. I get it. I'm pretty turned off by Mr Charm School at this point, who has assumed our estimated check average, and decided we won't be meriting his attention this evening. My husband is starving, I tell him, go ahead and put his order in. I'll let this superstar know if I want anything. He never comes back to check. I'd rather not eat at this point anyway. A runner delivers the husbands fish and chips. He housed it. It was great. We ask for the check. Check gets dropped. Husband asks if I have any cash for tip. For this guy? Not tonight, no sir. Not tonight. Not for this guy. This wasn't just bad service. This was bad manners. So, no. No tip. And we left feeling utter crap about it.

We paid a cover and went in for n New Years Eve, we should not have been allowed in as there were over 325 people inside said the security guard. We couldn't push our way through to even get a drink. There was no room to even stand and their upstairs was closed. How is this even safe? Why would they even take our money and let us in, knowing this. We left only staying 10 minutes and myself and the other couple that we were with through away our cover charge $10 a piece = $40. Very disappointing that owners would let this happen, but it seemed like the theme was keep letting people in and taking their money.

Good food and fun ambience. Some items on the menu are a bit pricey but that's typical of all of Outer Banks in general, so that's to be expected around here everywhere.
